Mayweather misplaces 80K betting slip before Cotto fight

Floyd Mayweather Jr. has been making more headlines for his massive sports betting wagers than he has for his upcoming fight with Miguel Cotto lately.

In a recent ESPN The Magazine story, Mayweather Jr.’s betting habits come into the spotlight. One evening he reportedly lost $50,000 on a Thunder-Lakers first half bet only to double down on the Thunder in the second half to win $100,000.

The following night he won $80,000 on a first half bet on the Miami Heat – and then lost the betting slip.

The 35-year-old put his team through an extensive search for the stub and wondered if somebody within his crew swiped the ticket – before it was eventually found in a pair of his sweatpants.

Big betting slips are of course nothing new to Mayweather.

He routinely jams up his Twitter feed with photos of his winning slips. He posted winnings in excess of $766,000 in a single day back in January and also cashed in about $333,000 when Alabama won the BCS Championship Game.

"In everything he does, Floyd's betting on himself." Leonard Ellerbe, Mayweather's adviser and CEO of Mayweather Promotions, told ESPN The Magazine. "He puts up the money, bets on himself and hits a home run every time."

That’s the way it could easily seem judging from Mayweather’s Twitter feed – he isn’t exactly the type to post evidence of his losing bets.

That said, he’s a huge favorite in this weekend’s fight with Miguel Cotto. Mayweather, who owns an unblemished 42-0 record, is set as a -833 favorite against Cotto (+500) in Saturday night’s bout at the MGM Grand.

Nobody cares about this. Every one or two months covers posts articles about this stuff. Please don't post this anymore. If you were to take a poll I'm sure 90% of us wouldn't care.
