Hot lines: Wednesday's best MLB bets

Tampa Bay Rays at Toronto Blue Jays (-110, 8)

The Blue Jays got some help from Rays third baseman Evan Longoria, whose three errors helped push three unearned runs across the plate in a 7-3 win to open this three-game American League East series.

It was just Toronto’s third win over Tampa Bay in their past 10 meetings, and dealt the Rays their fifth loss in the past six outings.

Rays starter David Price has been dominant against Toronto during his career, with a 9-2 record and 2.06 ERA in 12 starts.

Pick: Tampa Bay +104

Chicago Cubs at Miami Marlins (-123, 7)

Chicago has lost six of its past eight and has been outscored 20-6 during its current three-game losing streak.

The Cubs turn to Matt Garza to stop the slide. The right-hander came within an out of a complete game his last time out, silencing Milwaukee with 8 2/3 strong innings. Two errors cost Chicago dearly on Tuesday, leading to three unearned runs.

Garza was outstanding in picking up his first victory of the season Thursday, striking out nine in 8 2/3 innings against Milwaukee. Garza allowed just three hits and no earned runs. The right-hander is 3-1 in five career starts against the Marlins.

Mark Buehrle makes his third NL start, but his 14th against the Cubs. The left-hander went 5-4 with a 4.15 ERA against Chicago in 11 seasons with the cross-town White Sox. Buehrle allowed eight hits and three runs in 6 1/3 innings Thursday in a 3-1 loss at Philadelphia.

Pick: Under 7

The YANKS are the better team on all fronts and Kuroda looked great in his last start in the home opener I'll go back to them tonight by a deuce ................................................ I was leaning JAYS initially but after looking at both pitchers numbers vs their opponents tonight I think the U 8 is the safer play.................................................................. Sometimes teams lay an egg after a HUGE offensive outburst but with how well TEX is playing top to bottom I have to take them at basically even money today.................................................................... Garza has had a great start to the year but the CUBS have been outscored 20-6 L3 obviously losing them all. Give me Buehrle at home with the better team at -130 all day.............................................................Greinke is awesome at home but with how hot the Doyers have been -170 is way to high, gimmie the dog in this one................................................................................The Royals can't buy a win so even with a crap pitcher on the bump I'll back Les Tigres again for the sweep.................................................................................STL is just playing better ball right now and Garcia is a freak at home so I think he'll fair better than the start in CINCY....................................................................OAK for many of the same reasons as yesterday. Their starter is overrated and their pen is crap plus the are getting slurped by the public for the PooHoles trade............................................................................ After 17 runs in SEA last night I think the bats may take the day off today especially with Lowe's sinker cooking and Vargas being steady but with a 20 mph wind out to left I'll wait on that one for a bit

Still overall on the day I was -3.65 units thanx to getting throttled on pucks for a dime..............................MLB(1)NYY -1.5 -115 (2)TB/TO O 8 -105 (3)TEX ML -105 (4)MIA ML -130 (5)LAD ML +160 (6)DET ML -120 (7)STL ML -120 (8)OAK ML +150 (9)WASH -190 to NYY -230 +120..........................Enjoy your plays

1-0 in MLB last nite and a loss with the Devs on the ice. Tonite, again, roll w/ Yanks RL over Twinks. DOn't expect a dominating performance from Marquis. Huroda to stay sharp. That's it, one play.....
