Hot lines: Tuesday's best MLB bets

Cleveland Indians at Seattle Mariners (+110, 7)

Averaging an MLB-best 6.5 runs, the Indians have homered in each of their first eight games, the fourth-longest streak in franchise history.

Rejuvenated Travis Hafner (2 HRs, 5 RBIs), the 34-year-old DH, and 2B Jason Kipnis (3 HRs, 7 RBIs) are leading the power surge. Hafner hit a 468-foot bomb in Sunday's 13-7 blowout of Kansas City.

"Wow! He's hit two balls already that I guess the people in Cleveland were used to seeing before he hurt his shoulder," manager Manny Acta said of Hafner. "I've seen a lot of games here and I've never seen a ball hit that far."

Cleveland's offense will present a major challenge to Seattle starter Kevin Millwood, who is trying to revive his career at age 37.

The Mariners have built their winning record on the backs of the A’s. Seattle has played the A’s seven times, getting five of its seven wins against them. Seattle ranks 13th in the AL in slugging percentage (.353), ahead of only Oakland.

Cleveland scored at least eight runs in its first three road games for the first time in franchise history.

Pick:
Over

Tampa Bay Rays at Toronto Blue Jays (-130, 8)

Toronto saved face with a win over Baltimore in its series finale after two bullpen collapses in the late innings. The Blue Jays' starters have been stellar to begin the season, posting a collective 2.90 ERA, second lowest in the American League.

Tampa Bay also did some damage control with a 1-0 win over Boston Monday, snapping a four-game losing streak. The Rays' offense is sputtering, scoring an average of only 2.8 runs in the last five games and could have a tough time against Ricky Romero.

Romero picked up his first win of 2012 with an impressive outing versus Boston, giving up only one run on three hits over 8 1/3 innings. The lefty is 5-4 with a career 3.18 ERA against Tampa Bay, including a 3-2 mark and 2.02 ERA in five starts versus the Rays last season.

Jose Bautista is getting warmer with a hit in all three games against the Orioles. However, the reigning home run king hasn’t gone yard since opening day and has also failed to drive in a run since putting two on the board on April 5. Tampa Bay leaked runs to the Red Sox, getting outscored 31-13 in that four-game set.

Pick: Blue Jays

Like the YANKS to bounce back with their ace on the bump.......................... The RAYS have fallen off a bit and Romero looked like a beast in his last start. Also Niemann has ugly numbers H2H vs the JAYS............................................................... Johan has been solid this year and Delgado doesn't usually go past 5 inning and ATL's pen has been just so so..................................................... With the way TEX & BOS can rake and the wind blowing out to right, even with two quality starts I think the O 9 is well within reach (by either team). And I was thinking about the CUBS at big +$ with JJ looking brutal so far this year but decide that I should just go with the O 7 since the CUBS seem to punt me when I bet on or against them....................................................................................................................................MLB(1)NYY -1.5 -125 (2)TO ML -140 (3)NYM ML +105 (4)TEX/BOS O 9 pick (5)CHIC/MIA O 7 -115 (6)NYY ML to WASH ML +120..........................................Still working on a few late game like OAK so back in a bit with those.

NBA(1)SA FH -2 (2)SA -3 to the O 198 +260...........Even with Kobe the Lakeshow would have a hard time with SanAnn. And yeah they're old and in a B2B but last night was a cake-walk so they didn't drain themselves. S.A takes it 211-199

After Sunday was one of my better days on the bases for the year pulling in +4.65 units I went right back to the YANKS and promptly handed over -5.55 units bringing me to 40-45-1 -3.1 units on the year. In pucks I kicked ass (relatively speaking) compared to how bad things have been during the playoffs. I went 3-4 and "only" dropped a unit. Still thats and ugly 15-33-2 record for -21.15 units so far in the playoffs. And I didn't try and mixed sport parlays last night but I went back to the hardwood where the hoops have been decent and I'm glad I did as they were the only sport paying out going 3-3 but thanx to a couple parlays +2.8 units on the night................................................................................................................................................................................. For tonight I've only had a chance to glance over the board but the the MUTS with Don't Mess with the Johan Santana on the bump look playable as he's looking like he's back in top form. Then even though I lost with them last night the A's at huge +$ looking inviting as well. The Angels pen is a mess and Haren didn't look very sharp against the Twins the other day. I think the hype is keeping the price a good 30 cents above where it should be so to me thats some value.
