Hot lines: Tuesday's best MLB bets

Los Angeles Dodgers at Minnesota Twins (-110, 8)

Monday was a bad day for the Los Angeles Dodgers franchise – much like most days have been for the club’s supporters this season.

The Dodgers filed for bankruptcy protection Monday, claiming that the move would stabilize the club’s finances down the road.

If only it were that easy for Dodgers bettors.

Los Angeles supporters are down 11.43 units on the year, putting them 26th in the league. Most of that damage has come with the team playing on the road, but it’s also worth noting that L.A. has won only six of its last 22 interleague games.

With the struggling Ted Lilly facing the Minnesota Twins, we’re expecting more misery for the boys in blue Tuesday.

Pick:
Twins

San Francisco Giants at Chicago Cubs (+125, N/A)

The Cubs showed some rare pop in Monday’s win over the Colorado, with Carlos Pena and Aramis Ramirez each swatting a pair of homers.

The win marked just the third time in nine games that the Cubs managed more than three runs and Doug Davis has to be hoping the club’s offense saved a few runs in the tank.

Davis has just one win on the year but has held his opposition to three or fewer runs in five of his last six outings. However, he's only getting 2.4 runs of support in his starts.

"We played hard and gave ourselves a chance to win," Davis told reporters after losing a 4-3 decision to the White Sox last week. "We were one swing away pretty much the whole game, one play away. It's bound to go the other way one of these times. (We're) keeping the games close, and that's all you can really do."

We see the Giants jumping out quick in the first game of Tuesday's doubleheader.

Pick: Giants

Now Olivo is outta the game and Pineda has to throw to Gimenez who has caught him before but they don't have the same chemistry and Gimenez has been crossed up already once.

sweet...good stuff for ya. was it a push or win (i didn't look at that line). Pitch counts getting up there but both M's and Braves struggle to hit and both have great pitching. I split my bet into 1st 5 innings for 2.5 units and 4 units on the game bx my book with most the units available was at 5.5 so i played that one 2.5 and 2.5 game....then 1 unit on the book at a total of 6 >>>>>>>>I know what you mean as i seem to have a high % win rate but just getting into my 1st serious year on the bases and throwing around my hoops winnings way too much. I like to go for it though but i should be looking at the long term more and agree I should go with even plays and shoot for the % win. I could hit like 6 of 7 calls today and be even which blows. Rays would of crushed me but I felt soooo good about that even though not too many were playing that one except these yuppies with 5-10k on that shit. Thought i would join the party. worked today and i had to try to make up last week when i lost #3 10+ unit plays in 3 consecutive days. took all week to get half of it back. I dont mind a small chase but I cant let it get crazy like that. Hanson continues to kill us here as i type...im going to eat dinner and hope this stays at 3-0 for another inning or 3!!!

One win in TEX and a push in CIHC......................... This is my 3rd year of betting bases, second serious and I thought I'd have it down by now but no sir. This shit is tricky. Hockey is tough too but I have a waaaaayyy better feel for that and can trust my instincts much more. Hopefully in a few years I'll be an old geezer like L.L and be catching rays, hitting plays while tapping lay-daze.....lol

Hanson needs to find his release point quickly. Ichiro leads off with a ding dong. He settles down a bit to get out of the inning bit has given up 3 hits and a run (1 out) in the second as well. Ichiro is up again already and he is about as tough to double up as they come. This may be tits by the 3rd. Also still need a garbagio run in CHIC to get a push on the G2 over.

not good...i hit some big plays but this dude calls me once a month and said to play it for as much as i could and is usually on point so i risked most my winnings for the day and looks like i may just clear even if this keeps up. Hope he settles in. I already had it played some earlier and parlayed to the Rays but had to go and toss in a bunch more and be greedy. Need out this bases loaded shit now and stay 2-0 bad

I know as well as anyone how tricky it can be to weed out the bullshit with so many opinions and calls and emails coming in from literally around the globe some days but I think you'd benefit from changing up a bit and making all your plays for the same amount and dropping what doesn't deserve full units. I still play a shitload of plays but doing them all for the same amount was a great move for me. I still tack on halfer to plays I like but I ONLY make plays for at least a unit (for me). It takes a ton of the emotion and the *hit the big lose the small plays* out of the equation. And for the record this message is from POT telling you the KETTLE that you're black lolol I should read this myself tomorrow.

Have it but in a parlayed to the Bravos +1.5 Like the value in that play as there are only a few scores that will have the score under 6 with SEA winning and ATL not cover the +1.5: 2-0,3-0,3-1,4-0,4-1 and 4-2/5-1 for partial payouts. This looks like a 3-2'er to me but we shall see.

Now I have 6 parlays alive and more importantly my parlay with the Phills and with AZ were decent sized ones. I guess the AZ game started before I could get the play in for a reason as I have 3 parlays involving AZ with the 1st 2 completed so now i have a reason to cheer against my tribe! Oh my! what a nail biter on that Rays game!!

Yeah it stinks..i havent drove a car more in 5 months. luckily i work at a desk on a phone and computer so i didnt lose my job. I broke my ankle and chin. My tibia and fibula broke in 3 places. the fibula was poking out my skin...I have a permanent plate with 8 screws holding that together and a i have 2 rods holding my ankle together also...sucks. I currently have a bone stimulating machine attached to my leg as i type to promote bone growth and healing. Once it is solid then they are taking just the 2 rods out and leaving the plate and screws in forever. it is optional to take out the rods but this Dr. likes to take them out but said many leave them in..kinda weird. Hope my ankle stays together...no more dunking on the kids in the driveway for me!!

Wish I would of equal played the Phills and Rays but i liked the Rays more. I cant believe I missed getting in the AZ play and I dont like any of the late games enough to make a big call on them. DAMN IT COME ON RAYS!!!!

I picked every freaking game except the Jays but I did take their Over so i washed on that game but I am screwed bc I parlayed way too much into the Rays...2 more at bats

Well, as every gambler thinks, there is always tomorrow. I'm so fuckin' ready for some football. I just have a serious problem capping bases. I suck at it. Please bring on the football season before I have to file chapter 7. Hahaha. Not really but the bases kill me most every year.....
