Pick 'n' roll: Monday's best NBA bets

Milwaukee Bucks at Indiana Pacers (-2.5, 202.5)

The Bucks are going to have to get better production from their two highest-paid players if they’re going to make the playoffs in 2010.

Two guard Michael Redd is shooting just 38 percent from the field and 27 percent from 3-point land since coming back from injury. Making matters worse, franchise center Andrew Bogut went ice cold in the second half of Saturday’s game against the Kings.

The big pivot is struggling to find any type of chemistry with first-year point guard Brandon Jennings.

Bogut won’t find things any easier on Monday. Pacers center Roy Hibbert is capable of coming up with big defensive efforts like his six-block showing Saturday against the Spurs.

Pick: Pacers

Utah Jazz at Orlando Magic (-7.5, 203.5)

Marcin Gortat must be pissed. The long-time Orlando role player impressed during the club's postseason run last season. Dallas offered the big man a fat contract, but the Magic surprisingly matched the proposal. Now Gorat is the highest paid backup center and playing garbage minutes most nights.

Orlando hoped they could play Gorat next to All-Star Dwight Howard, but the pairing hasn't worked out in coach Stan Van Gundy's eyes.

Gorat isn't the only big man wasting away on the Magic's bench. Power forward Brandon Bass, who was signed to a healthy contract in the offseason, is lucky to get 10 minutes of play every other game.

Van Gundy's rotation pattern could end up hurting him. Howard is playing big minutes and could tire down the stretch. Also, when Howard gets in foul trouble, Gorat and Bass don't play with the same confidence they showed last season.

Could be a nice edge for Utah. The Jazz will try to attack Howard early on with bruising forwards Carlos Boozer and Paul Millsap.

Pick: Jazz

17, yes this is correct. The final was 103-87 and the last points scored was at 2:23. 7 missed shots and a turnover according to nba.com. Crazy stuff. Sorry!

Can someone confirm that the Spurs game that had an over of 193.5, that both teams were at 190 with 2 and 1/2 minutes to go and no one scored. N o one scored !!! Fix on for the over! Come on . THis is hard to believe. Cavs playing tough. Knew this would happen as most people bet the Suns.

Bodio, ditto! And that was the worst play in the history of the NFL! Let's hope the G-men put the brakes on in the second half!

doobie...chill out! Both covers.com, vegasinsider.com, and scoresandodds.com have the betting trend closed out at 83% on Cleveland Cavaliers. (it was 87% earlier). If those are not reliable then my bad. But for you to say that every matchup is close to 50/50 action is just not right! Most wagers have a very heavy 'public' following which makes it one sided. The books don't make their money on every wager, they just make their money in the long-run since the public always losses long-term. Of course the books want the same amount of wagers on each side to minimize their risk but that just can't happen in the market when you have favorites and the OVERS which are preferred by the public. I'm surprised you don't know this -- for some reason I considered you a pretty good capper... GL

I never said anything about conspiracy theorys. If there's major line movements, I won't play that particular game 95% of the time. I'm not a good enough capper. But to say you can't find out where the money is going, I don't know how you figure that. You def know more about this than I do but I didn't see anything fishy about this game. There's a reason the Giants are favored by 3. THEY'RE BETTER.

My bad, I didn't think about that right. Either way, I like the Giants and the under. The over was pounced on. Some books had the line @ -2 and -1.5. Mine didn't move from 3. Either way, good luck.

I don't know where you're getting your information on who the public is betting on, but it is B.S. The line NEVER moves against the money. In fact the line moves are the ONLY way to know which way the money is going. There's no freaking way 87% of the public is betting against the Suns' home winning streak, and if they were, the line would have dropped. All that percentage crap on this site is just that, CRAP! The books want the same amount of money on both sides of every game. There are no conspiracies to one side or the other. That's just another myth the books and sports services perpetuate to keep your eye off the teams.

The public is NOT all over the Skins. The line opened 3 and closed 3. There is 2 points worth of money on the over.

The public is actually on the Giants and the OVER...

I don't get the thoughts on the Giants. They are nowhere near out of the playoffs. I'm not a Giants fan and don't care either way but they have the tie-breaker over the Cowboys and will be playing hard and to win. They had a different defense but look what this team did just a couple years ago when they were written off. The public is all over Wash and the over. So I like the G-men and the under.

2* Parlay Redskins (+3) and Over (44) - Washington 5-0 ATS L5 and NYG 1-7 ATS L8. Over 6-1 Skins L7 and 5-0 NYG vs. division. Teams got 40 in NY and have scored more in Washington 8 years in a row. Teams are #5 and #8 scoring in NFL over L5 games. Campbell has been hot and both starting Giant CBs are inactive.

Just checked, 87% of the public on the Cavs.... Not sure what you mean by LeBron factor. The line moved from -2 Suns to -2.5 Suns when 87% of the public is on the Cavs (and LeBron)....Good luck 17!

Bodio Saw the line change on Cavs game and that simply is the LeBron factor. Certainly a factor all should consider because he is Jordan-like in willing his team to win. With that said, still feel Suns will get Cavs on a back-to-back. But you know what happens when everyone bets one team like all are tonight on the suns. The other team usually wins. This could be the case for Cavs. GL

I don't assume they will win tonight's game, I'm just saying they are NOT going into the game knowing they are done as you stated. They know if they win out and Dallas loses 1, they are in.
