Chicago Bears at Green Bay Packers
Matchup stats and trends
Line/total: We opened the Packers -3 and about two weeks ago. We moved to -3.5 based on how well the Packers looked in their three preseason games.
In particular, their starting unit looked very sharp in all three games and we felt justified moving to 3.5 based on what we saw in those games. Early this week we booked sharp action on the Packers -3.5 and went directly to -4. Since then, the public has also started betting the Packers, so we're now dealing 4.5 in the hopes of generating some
Bears action.
Seventy-five percent of the action is on the Packers. As for the total, we opened 45.5 and with 80 percent of the early action on the over, we've gone to 46.5.
Key Injuries:
Bears - CB Zarkary Bowman, CB Charles Tillman, CB Danieal Manning and DT Israel Idonije have all been upgraded to probable. WR Devin Aromashodu is listed Questionable.
Packers - RB Brandon Jackson, CB Will Blackmon and DT BJ Raji are all listed doubtful.
Comments: These two teams split the season series last year, with each team winning at home. But the Packers did cover both games, losing to the Bears in Chicago by 3 points but covering the closing 4-point spread. The Bears will look to pound the ball with RB Matt Forte, the seventh leading running back in the NFL last year.
Packers QB Aaron Rodgers is coming into his second season as a starting quarterback and can only get better. Last year he was the sixth-rated passer in the NFL and was fourth in total passing yards.
Prop of the game: Jay Cutler (Bears) total touchdown Passes - 1.5
