Randy Scott is the sportsbook manager at betED.com. He shares the sharp action and weather his book is monitoring.

Cleveland 41.5
Buffalo -5.5
Monday 8:35 pm

Weather: 50 percent chance of Snow, Temp 31
- The point-spread was hit by wise action on: Buffalo -4.5

- The total opened at: 42.5
- Where the public is: Split 50/50

- Where the money is:  Even

-  The Monday night stage usually brings out the best in home teams. That's one reason Buffalo starts out as a decent favorite to win, then add wise action at -4.5 and the line moves up even more. We have this game closer than the current odds suggest and only give Buffalo a 50/50 chance to cover the spread.

Buffalo needs this to prove they aren't fading away. With this one and a couple of soft ones ahead this could be where they try to get the season back on track. The offense hasn't been clicking, but the defense ain't bad. Seems like the X-factor could be Quinn. Is he going to step up to the spotlight and prove who he is, or will he crumble under the lights. Weather should really affect either team too much, but I'm feeling the under expecting lots of lets get Lynch outta the funk and maybe a couple a Quinn picks. Could be 24 - 10 final, maybe even less if Bills falter.

I can't see how you think the wise money is on Buff when the line opened everywhere at Buff -5.5. Stop feeding the wrong information to people. Early money went to Clev., which is why the line has come down from 5.5 to 4.5.

Oddsmaker opened the MNF contest with Buffalo as 5.5-point favorites, but early money on Cleveland has dropped the point spread to 4.5-points at most books. The over/under total opened at 43 and has also adjusted down to 41.5 at the offshore sportsbooks rather quickly.

Either way, keep an eye on this game because there is a chance of nasty Buffalo weather playing it’s part, which is why the game is currently off the board at a few offshore books (5Dimes.com and SportsInteraction.com) and the Hard Rock in Las Vegas.

Moron!

Not only did betED open at 5 it went up to 5.5 as soon as it opened and stayed there until Sunday morning. tep who's side are you on anyway!

I get BetChris opening lines and can confirm that it opened up -4 and it currently -5.5.

Chezman says:
11/17/08 02:32PM

LVSC opened the line at -5. This is the opening line out of Vegas, not 4.5.

This is the right number. The sports books all use the LVSC opening number as a starting point, then make adjustments as needed.

The line opened up at -4.5...why not just check scoresandodds.com where they show the line movement and the time of the changes? Secondly why would a website that makes their money of you purchasing their picks want to give you bad information? Should change "youramoron" to "imjustanidiot"

who gives a rats behind at this point! If your getting that wrapped in early line movemant and where the line started, ur focusing on the wrong things. Unless you like to jump on early lines (which I think is stupid 90% of the time) Lets focus on the game where it is currently set, -5 at my local book.

the fact is, Buffalo has a decent defense and Brady Quinn did show some promise last game. The Buffalo pass defense is ranked 13th in the league. Not great, but good. I could see Brady Quinn struggling a little in this game. He helped the browns put up 30 on Denver, but they couldnt stop a troop of girls scouts from scoring.

But, Could being on Monday night pump Quinn up and he comes out and lights it up.

I am on the fence but leaning towards CLeveland. This just smells of a kickers dual to me. anyone?

Just providing correct info. For your info CRIS puts out probably the earliest lines. You can easily check on various sites my numbers are correct. Beleive me or not but name calling is immature. Grow up. When I do post I provide useful info. This site has gone to hell and I am done with the pettyness.

Fpronk - the sites I showed are probably the top sites and set the earliest lines. Thats why they were shown.

youramoron - not on any side just pointing out his info on the opening line was correct.

CJVEGAS - now I wil stoop to your level and leave this site for good. GO darn YOURSELF fool. Now am as tough as you DICKHEAD.

JohnnySweet says:

i'll take the under now at 40.5

freezing temperatures and snow should make this a sloppy game..

a lot of dropped balls and both running games will be busy..

this will be a game filled with mistakes and points will be tough to come by

anyone agree or disagree?

israelsr38 says:
11/17/08 03:28PM

I'm taking the over tonight. Both teams are used to playing in the cold, and both defenses suck! Who cares about the weather.

JohnnySweet says:
11/17/08 03:39PM

Obviously someone cares about the weather, or the line wouldn't have moved 2 points down..!

youramoron says:
11/17/08 03:46PM

Who cares about the weather? You probably had the over in the 2007 NFC championship game too....Moron!

Odie77 says:
11/17/08 03:47PM

I agree JohnnySweet, Snowy, cold, slick conditions means more turnovers and lots of running. i'm just worried since its only a 50/50 chance. If the chance of snow was a little higher, i'd be all over the under

I have taken Cleveland +5.5 and I have also played the under when it was at 40, for most of the reasons already stated: cold, snow, focus on ground game, difficult field goal conditions, etc
