Sports Interaction betting analyst Frank Doyle fights against is natural inclination for the underdog and is picking favorites to cover in Week 11 of the NFL.
We’re seeing a lot of early action on the Jets +3.5 for their Thursday night game at New England and I am not at all sure that’s a wise investment. I can see how it came about, after the Jets rustling the Rams the way they did on Sunday, but just because you can steal your kid sister’s Barbie it doesn’t mean you’re ready to join Ocean’s Eleven.
New England has been fantastic this year, fantastic, and that’s a tribute to Belichick. There’s a lot of superb coaching going on in the NFL right now – Jeff Fisher at Tennessee, Mike Smith of course at Atlanta, Tony Sparano at Miami, and more – but Bill Belichick saw all his plans for redemption go wallop in Week 1 and he’s been able to retool his whole offense strategy to suit the new conditions. Wasn’t it Bum Phillips who said that a good coach was the guy that not only could beat your team with his team but could then take your team and beat his team? That’s what Belichick is doing in New England now. The injury to Adalius Thomas is a woe that Belichick could have done without but New England -3.5 with Sports Interaction when the Jets visit Foxboro on Thursday is still the pick.
Another veteran – looks can be deceiving, you know – coach who’s getting it done right now is Jon Gruden at Tampa Bay. The Buccaneers aren’t a team of stars, they’re midtable in most offensive categories but they’re fourth in points allowed and points are where it counts. Minnesota has recovered from a very poor start and the Vikings have one of the premier rushers in the game in Adrian Peterson but it’s hard not to think that if Plan AP doesn’t work, there is no backup plan. My dollar says that Gruden can scheme Peterson out of the game and get the win. Tampa Bay -4 with Sports Interaction is the pick.
Finally, and it’s very hard to write it in the light of all that’s gone before, Atlanta looks like the bet when Denver visits the Georgia Dome. Denver had a good win at Cleveland and the Broncos are coming off ten days’ rest but they somehow seem to have forgotten how to run the ball. Cutler will have to pass, and if the Falcon defense was able to put a serious dent in Drew Brees’ MVP hopes last week, it says here they can do they exact same thing to Jay Cutler. Atlanta -5.5 with Sports Interaction is the final pick of the week.
