BetEd.com NCAA Football Betting – ‘Bama aims to defend top spot at LSU

It is coming down to crunch time in the college football betting season, and the No.1 spot in the rankings has been a curse over the past couple of seasons. Alabama becomes the next team to attempt to defend their No.1 ranking when they head to LSU this weekend for a massive SEC rivalry. Elsewhere, Texas Tech, who beat last week’s No.1, Texas, will host Oklahoma State in a Big 12 shootout, while California tries to pull a huge Pac-10 upset at USC.  Before heading to your sportsbook to place your bet, here is a look at these NCAA football lines.

Alabama vs LSU pick

The No.1 Crimson Tide (9-0) are 3-point favorites on the road against the No.16 Tigers (6-2), who have been run over by their last two ranked opponents, Georgia and Florida. The Tigers will have extra motivation as this is the first time Alabama coach Nick Saban has been to LSU since he left there for the NFL in 2003, only to return after two years to coach one of LSU’s biggest rivals. This game will come down to defense, as both are ranked in the top 21 nationally in that category. Alabama have dropped seven of their last ten against LSU, including the last five meetings. If you are into online betting, this is the game that everyone will be talking about.

Oklahoma State vs Texas Tech odds

The No.2 Red Raiders (9-0) are 3-point favorites at home against the No.9 Cowboys (8-1) after their thrilling win over Texas, and they have won six of their last ten against Oklahoma State, who recovered from a Texas loss to rout Iowa State. These teams both rank in the top seven in terms of total offense, so expect a shootout, which is the common theme in the Big 12 this year. Texas Tech would love to be there to claim the top spot if Alabama falls, but Oklahoma State are no slouches and will push the Red Raiders to the limit. Those who will be betting sports this weekend should definitely consider this Big 12 showdown.

California vs USC line

The No.21 Golden Bears (6-2) are massive 17.5-point underdogs on the road against the No.7 Trojans (7-1), but they will need to improve despite a win over Oregon in which they committed five turnovers, albeit in sloppy weather. The Trojans have shut out three of their last four opponents, and currently have the best defense in the country, so California’s defense will have to step up if the Golden Bears want to keep this game close. USC has won six of their last ten against California, including four straight, and they have looked phenomenal since they were upset at Oregon State back in September. This is an interesting game to bet online, so make sure you have all the facts before making your pick in your sportsbook.
