SOUTHPORT, England (AP) -Padraig Harrington has won his second straight British Open, overtaking 53-year-old Greg Norman and fending off Ian Poulter.

Harrington, who beat Sergio Garcia in a playoff last year, shot a 1-under 69 on a blustery Sunday at Royal Birkdale. He won by four strokes with a 3-over 283 total. The Irishman wrapped up the claret jug with an eagle at the next-to-last hole.

Poulter of England also shot 69 to finish second at 287.

Norman was trying to become the oldest major champion in golf history, starting the final round with a two-stroke lead. The Aussie struggled to a 77 and finished six strokes behind Harrington. He tied for third with Henrik Stenson.

Still seems surreal to me, found a weak line on Padraig after day 2 at 50-1 and locked in, well not locked in but still tossed enough scratch on it to make me pretty pleased...$30 --> $1500, pretty sick stuff!

Norman "struggled to a 77 and finished six strokes behind Harrington."

if there is anything consistant in sports it's that "The Shark" will CHOAK a lead in a major. I KNEW I should have checked his "head up" odds for today.

Not sure but I found a VERY VERY weak line at my book after Day 2.

50-1 when others had him at 18-1, good weekend, lol
