Hawaii QB Colt Brennan knocked out of game
HONOLULU -- Hawaii quarterback Colt Brennan walked off the field on his own power after taking a hard hit with 52 seconds left in the first half against Utah State on Saturday night.
Brennan completed a short pass when he was drilled by linebacker Paul Igboeli. Brennan, recovering from a right ankle injury he suffered three weeks ago, laid on the field for a few minutes before slowly getting up walking gingerly off the field.
The 15th-ranked Warriors were leading 24-14 when Brennan was replaced by backup Tyler Graunke.
Brennan, ranked second in the nation in passing, returned to play one series in the third quarter before limping off the field and being replaced again by Graunke.
The Rainbow Warriors went on to win the game 52-37 and the teams played over the total which was set at 68.
