CHICAGO -- Cubs right fielder Cliff Floyd came out of Saturday's game against the Houston Astros after diving for a ball and straining his left shoulder in the first inning.

The Cubs won the game 9-3 as a -105 home favorite. The game played over the 10-run total.

Floyd tried for a shoestring catch of leadoff batter Chris Burke's blooper down the right-field line but missed and landed on his shoulder as the ball rolled behind him for a triple.

Mark DeRosa moved from second base to right field in the top of the second and Mike Fontenot came in to play second, taking Floyd's No. 5 spot in the batting order.
