Widely considered the top tournament poker player in the world today, Phil Ivey (150-1)  is Sportsbook.com’s favorite to win this year’s WSOP Main Event.  Although Ivey has five career WSOP bracelets, he has yet to win the most treasured prize: the Main Event.  Ever since Chris Moneymaker won the top prize in 2003, there has been a huge influx of “amateur” players at the Main Event which has obviously made it more of a challenge for the professionals.  Since then, Poker’s “household names” have been shutout at the Main Event mostly due to the increased number of entrants via online tournaments, Sit n Go’s, etc.  This year’s main event will not have as many entrants as the last couple years due to the lack of presence from the online poker sites.  For this reason alone, all of the top professionals will have their best chance in years to take home poker’s most coveted prize.  At 200-1, WSOP veterans and multiple bracelet winning Phil Hellmuth and Chris “Jesus” Ferguson are right behind Ivey to cash in on the big prize.  Both of these veterans have previously won the Main Event and Hellmuth is tied with Johnny Chan and Doyle Brunson for the most career WSOP bracelets (10).

Don’t miss your chance to join poker’s elite at this year’s WSOP.  Sportsbook.com still has numerous seats available for the 2007 Main Event.  And if you don’t have the opportunity to play in this year’s Main Event doesn’t mean you can’t still cash in on the WSOP.  Be sure to check out our “Exotics” section for numerous WSOP proposition bets.  Listed below is just a portion of the players and their odds to win the Main Event.
