Hi Nostradamus.
I always like reading your posts and your picks. Do you have any nervousness about Akron on the road tonight? That is the game that stands out for me, but I thought the line would be higher. I know WM is decent at home. Is there a reason you are quite confident in picking Akron on the road even though they are 6-0 in conference play?

The line that stands out for me tonight is Akron -3.5. Akron is the hottest team in the MAC right now while Western Michigan is near the bottom.
However the Broncos have been solid at home and they only lost by 7 in Akron a couple of weeks ago. Akron is 6-0 in the MAC while Western Michigan is 2-4. I feel that Akron should be the easy play here but for some reason I can't pull the trigger. Are there any MAC experts out there who can offer some insight as to why the best team in the MAC is only a 3.5 pt favorite over one of the teams at the bottom? Is this a potential trap game. Thanks in advance for any input.

Of their 15 wins, Drake is pretty bad, but I would not be comfortable laying more than a possession on the road in the Valley with such an unproven SIU team. Also, Drake is one of the best 3 point shooting teams in the country (40.9%, #13). They shoot nearly 43% from deep in the Knapp Center. If they get hot, this one could get away from SIU. Good luck if you play it. Thank you for the info, Jfen. I appreciate it.

SIU is on the road with a 15-3 record and 6-0 on the road. Drake is 5-12 with a 3-4 home record. SIU is only -4. Am I missing something here or will this be a close game?

Keep up the solid work.

I posted this again in the NFL forum to get the opinions of true football fans. My biggest problem is the way they are scheduled. These are the best of the bowl games, but watching them all is hard to do due to scheduling. On New Year's Eve the NY6 begins with the Peach Bowl at noon. The first CFP semi-final starts at 3:00, while the second semi final will follow that at 7:00. Who is able to watch football all day on New year's Eve? On January 1, we have 2 decent games, nit NY6 games, but decent nonetheless - the Outback and Citrus Bowls starting at noo and 1:00 respectively. Also, at 1:00 the Fiesta Bowl begins. Ater the Fiesta Bowl is the Rose Bowl at 5:00, followed by the Sugar Bowl at 8:30. Again, another day where if we want to watch the games, we have to be glued for 11 hours. Why don't they spread the games out a bit, like this for example. Dec. 31 Semi Final 1, Cotton Bowl 8:00 Jan. 1. Outback and Citrus Bowls at noon. Rose Bowl at 4:30 Semi Final 2 - Orange Bowl 8:00 Jan. 2 Fiesta Bowl 8:30 Jan. 4 Sugar Bowl Jan. 5 Peach Bowl The championship is Jan.11 so the team that wins the first SF wouldn't have much of a rest advantage over the team that played the SF on Jan. 1. |

Now I am a huge fan of college football, and it is my favourite sport to watch. But I have a problem with the top tier bowl games known as the New Year's 6.

With the above schedule more people could watch each game. We invest 4 months watching college football, and then the experts make it fairly difficult for us to watch each of the big bowls. I love football, but watch 11 straight hours on Dec. 31 and Jan. 1 is nearly impossible. What do other CFB fans think? Am I being stupid? |

Portlan up by 4 in the half with 15 to play. Can't believe how easy this one was. Portland dominates at home.
