the following is a list i have compiled based on all quarterbacks whom i cannot believe are either starting or somehow are rated highly by stats, the fans, or their own team: Tony Romo - Jerry Jones really loves him at a personal level and continues to live in the past. When bledsoe was the starter in 2006, romo was the right guy to take his job but this isn't 2006 anymore. kyle orton is not in there to take his job, he's in there to solidify himself as a future quarterbacks coach at best. Why does it seem like romo can only win when the other team is at a handicap? Jay Cutler - He has a very high level of talent but he continues to be able to hide behind one of the highest levels of an nfl defense. How many times do the bears play in a tied game or behind? Jay cutler is like a pitcher in baseball who always gets the highest run support of anyone in the league. Cutler can be so much better if he has a better attitude and outlook when things go wrong but for the most part the defense has surely been able to cover his tracks. Russell Wilson - i cannot believe that he won the starting job over matt flynn. Anyone seen him while he was at Wisconsin? Got damn is this bullshit that he's still the starter. Look at his week in and week out numbers, i am not impressed by it. The coaching staff of the seahawks has got to be one of the best in the league for russell wilson to perform the way that he has. Russell Wilson is also the shortest quarterback in the nfl. What the fuck is going on? He's not even 6 feet! Seattle is now 6-4 but what's he really been able to hide behind? Is it the coaching staff? Defense? running game? Offensive line? Alex Smith - and don't tell me that this guy has been able to improve and the numbers say it. Simply put jim harbaugh is a genius. 49ers defense and running game are top of the line in the nfl. Don't you DARE let alex smith off the hook. Phillip Rivers - got damn something must really be wrong with this guy. Could it be the loss of vincent jackson? Did phillip rivers break up with a long time girlfriend or something? Did a major family member die recently that he has not been able to recover? To me even when he was good last year or 2-3 years ago, i always felt that he was overrated. Why does it seem that he throws a key interception or commits a fumble when the game is on the line? San diego is so overrated, everyone somehow thinks that they are a great team and that they are going to win but ladainian is not there anymore. It is my opinion that phillip rivers was hiding behind him for too many years and now the true colors are showing. Fuck Phillip rivers, felt good taking the bucs on the ml today as well as the -4 2nd half today too. Mark Sanchez - Why do too many usc quarterbacks end up being bullshit or overrated? I even thought that matt barkely should have went to the nfl draft but instead he did usc a favor to come back for another year. It's like too many of these fair-weathered players from the fair weather teams show a lot of promise in the beginning, get drafted high, do well in their first year or so and then all of a sudden when shit hits the fan, they don't know how to overcome adversity. Rodney Peete, todd marinovich, rob johnson, matt leinhart, and don't get me started with carson palmer. Why does carson palmer even have the numbers that he does? Because the raiders suck, they are always playing from behind, and they have a shitty organization. the raiders overpaid and traded away draft picks for him even after al davis died and that goes to show that they still will be a shitty organization for years to come for pulling that shit. Sam Bradford - Why doesn't it seem like he's been doing as bad as he did last year? the reason is because jeff fisher is a good coach. At least the rams have a decent ats record, that's because we know the rams are shitty yet jeff fisher's coaching style help the rams not get blown out every game like last year and keep it within the spread at least. Cam Newton - Why do people hate him so much? because his father shopped his services around the college ranks for pay and yet cam newton was able to get away with it by blaming everything on his father as if what he did was equivalent to getting a girl pregnant and then not having to do with the kid ever again when it's born. Cam Newton was let right off the hook, showed a lot of promise according to too many people last year in his rookie year, but now we are back to the way carolina was when jimmy claussen was the quarterback. Why can't cam newton win? What is wrong with the carolina panthers? I am willing to admit that i might not be right with everyone on this list and that something else is going on. I might even be missing other guys better yet let it be known if someone needs to be taken off this list. This thread shall be open to argument for everyone. |

How quickly do we forget that Green Bay, in all its infinite wisdom, still had to have a lot of breaks go its way just to make the playoffs? They are a talented team but I disagree 165 that they are leaps and bounds better than New Orleans. I think this is a pretty far line at -4.5. The Saints had a down year last year (post-Super Bowl hangover, just like GB this year) but they still went into the following places and won on the road: Atlanta, Cincinnati, Dallas, Carolina, Tampa Bay, and San Francisco. They were 6-2 SU on the road last year. New Orleans is not to be trifled with. No play for me on this game but I definitely don't think its nearly as cut and dry as 165 sees it. |
