i had Nova at 22-1, and my book went and raised their price to 30-1 AFTER they dismantled Providence and Seaton Hall and handled Marquette easily...also, they have been building momentum all year, have veterans, and have an awesome record in a tough conference...Kentucky's conference is a joke...i was stunned when my book raised the price so i went to valuetown and bet them again

i am going to be looking for a price on the field vs kentucky when the tourney starts...or a prop bet of "will kentucky win the championship?"....i will be betting "NO", and if they remain undefeated going into the tourney i like it even more...i currently have Nova at 22-1 and 30-1 to win it all, and Virginia at 12-1 to win it all...last year I smashed Uconn at 75-1 so now im hooked on futures

my book has Kentucky to win it all at -175, which i feel has no value...i was wondering what price i should get against them winning it all...i remember when tiger was in his heyday there was a prop bet i liked: "will tiger win the masters?" NO would be about -200, should i expect the same number against Kentucky?

i like capping games where the teams have already played once or twice during the season...i then go look at the box scores and see how below/above average each team/player played that game...i also look at performance against similar opponents, how they've played/fared/traveled their last 2 weeks, and check rosters to see how many upperclassmen a team starts

on uconn myself as well....i am from CT and my father has had season tix since i could walk...i watch EVERY uconn hoops game and even though im a huge fan of theirs i will not hesitate to bet against them when they are favored by too many...i am 6-0 betting on or against uconn this season...last time these teams played ryan boatright had an off night and their line up was more inconsistent as to who was playing how much...also, when teams like Tulsa come to Uconn they are not prepared for the New England winter or the crowd...there will be three times the crowd Tulsa gets and we actually care about hoops in CT....also look for Amidah Brimah and Phillip Nolan to have big boards/blocks tonight

ive only been to vegas twice but i bet sports at bellagio, mirage, wynn, and tropicana...i actually spent a whole day in bellagios sportsbook (11am-8pm) and that was the best one of the 4...the seats were comfy and i liked the desktop you could fold down to spread out papers/write things down/hold your drink/whatever. i was never asked for a drink ticket, they just kept coming. i met people from everywhere and had a blast with people i just met. its right around the corner from the poker room and big enough.

speaking of that tiger bet...i usually hate to lay this much but i have won a bunch of tiger bets in majors, and have never lost one..my book used to have a prop bet where you could take the field against tiger in majors. you had to lay like 350 or 400 to win 100, something i NEVER do, but i thought the number was fair...would you rather have him to win it at 3.5 to 1, or lay 3.5 to 1 for him NOT to win it? i think im +ev |

i cant believe a stag responded. i did not go there but my father is a proud alumn. we were at the MAC semis and finals this year up in springfield...they covered for me as dogs against iona and then lost it back in the finals...i thought they could have been dancing...anyways, im glad my team isnt the yankees, as i'd never be able to bet on them considereing they are usually always heavy faves...im a big bruins fan, and hate to bet them as faves of more than -150...if i think they can win a game but it's -150 or more, i usually stay away

Long time covers fan, first topic I've started. Throughout the years I have placed way too many sports bets, and have finally figured a few things out...i think. Here are a few of my rules. What do you guys think, if you think at all. -NEVER flip a coin when you are getting charged any more than 10% vig (ex. betting on who wins the coin flip at -115) -There is ALWAYS more value in the under -future bets have little value, but you can end up with a hedge spot -look to moneyline NBA dogs, especially at the end of the season when both teams have nothing to play for -your team wont always be heavily favored, so wait for a good number -look for better than even money on bets that you think are 50/50 -tease, parlay, and prop bet sparingly |
