I just wanted to introduce myself and let yall know what my goals are for posting.
First and foremost, I am a Knicks fan. Dating back to Latrell Sprewell's airball to end the finals. Ever since then, I saw all the Knick games and it wasn't until I the movie Two For The Money that I knew you could actually bet on sports. Fast forward to the present, and being a Knick fan for most of my life, I know what its like to suffer as a fan. I was in after the glory Ewing days, so I don't know what being a fan of a powerhouse team feels like. The 2012-2013 playoff domination by the Pacers nearly broke my heart. I also stuck around for the 17 win season two years ago and watched every game. I guess what I'm trying to convey is, I love my team but I am always cautious of success. But this isn't a fan forum, its a gambling forum and I am here to offer all my Knick knowledge going forward because I literally watch every game. I don't know if anyone here literally watches all the NBA games, that would be amazing. But I only watch Knick games and I can confidently say I have a good beat on them. My goal is to establish a group of handicappers that are also hardcore fans of their own team and share their thoughts. There are around 5 NY Knick plays per season where I feel really confident on the outcome whether its due to the state of a team, injuries, distractions, etc. So my thinking is if people like me share our thoughts on those really confident plays, then together we will all make a profit. I know 5 plays per season is lacking but that is where I am hoping from this community is to have those hardcore fans add in their 5 plays for their own respectable teams. Either way, I will be sharing my thoughts on tonights game Knicks vs Nets game. These teams played each other in their first pre-season game and for the most part in the first half, they were evenly matched in the first half. Both these teams played fairly hard even though it was a pre-season game. Both these teams have incentives to do so, Knicks trying to gel with each other and learning a new offense. Some of these players really want to be in the 15 player rosters. In every pre-season game so far, I keep hearing the commentators say "its just a preseason game but the fans are into it" because the players were into it. On the other hand, the Nets have to develop a mentality to play hard every game because they know they are talent starved each night and the only thing to give them a chance is to put in great effort. This time around, you have the ultimate try hard Jeremy Lin who missed the last game. He's actually my favorite player and his style of play is very reckless , exactly the type of game the Nets need/looking for. Both these teams are better the last time they met. Knicks more familiar with their offense and each other, and Nets having their "star" point guard back. Knicks haven't been able to wreck anyone in the first half this pre-season and I don't see them doing so just yet. Their defense still isn't ready even though they have some good defensive players. I don't have a play for this but I am leaning towards the Knicks again due to their strong bench. Willy and Mindaugus has really impressed me so far and I think they will continue that trend in the second half. |
