I like KC, but buyer be weary. I have seen Chen pitch serveral times in detroit, always thought he was a nifty pitcher with solid drop to the ball and keeping batters a bit off balance, but he never helped my case w bad career numbers. He has a great year thus far since being repositioned to starter. Miggy and Price rake him tho, if one of them do not hit one out the park, KC will win (random bold thought). And i think prince is showing signs he is about to heat up. Billy, Getz, Gordon,Hosmer, and Perez have solid numbers vs Max. And they are all familiar with the demetions of comerica park and max is suceptible to the parks power allies. As long as they arent chasing pitches all night they should be able to put up 3-4 runs.
My only fear is an intangible, Miggys walk off will be fresh on their minds from the short turnaround to sunday morning. They might be keyed in seeing a pitch or two more every at bat. When i saw the matchup was chen vs max a few days ago i was hoping for a large line. Chen is the type of picher the tigers seem to get lazy on, and it is a good game for max to lose on. |

Best bet for a win this series is today. Next best will be Saturday, especially if they win tonight.

Yo nostra, been reading your posts over the years. Much respect. I'm not a big poster, but look frequently into this site as a tool for wagering.
I feel you on the Spartans. Although it is very much a coin flip. If both teams bring it, whatever 'it' is in respect to that team, whatever coach K and izzo scheme "it" to be.. I feel spartans have too many bodies and weapons. Izzo uses duke as a model. I think the week of prep, motivationaly speaking, is going to speak volumes in this game. I agree w you w the buckeyes as well. Not because I think Ohio can score a bunch. But they sure can do the basics of basketball offensively w the pick n pop. Pick and drive. Pick and kick. If craft is hitting from the elbow w any consistency, game over. Also they have a pure scorer in deshaun. Kid can light it up. As for that D. We know they play chest to chest. But the biggest problem Zona will have is turnovers. Craft, smith and Scott get after the ball, poking ,stripping, causing teams to consistently reset their offense. I think Zona can shoot themselves out of this. Here's where I would like to hear where you or others could could give me your 2 cents on. Louisville and Florida. I probably came here bc people I hang w, very knowledgeable sports fan. Just like most of us nuts on this forum. They think I'm absolutely coocoo to touch gulf coast or Oregon. Gulf coast is gulf coasting right now. From a pure basketball point of view I think they have many elements. Fast pace but patient enough. Not tall but nothing negative on size. Athletic on offense and pesky on D. They do seem to be a bit slack in terms of defensive sets and positioning. I do know they aren't the greatest of 3 pt team and can miss a lot of shots in general. A recipe for tournament exit. But overall I think that they are having too much fun right now. Generally seem to care about where they are. And showing it in the court. I know those are just intangibles, but hoops wise, Florida is better in every aspect. But being better doesn't translate to being dominant. As good as Florida can play, they are susceptible to a fault. Louisville looks like a complete team. The team to beat. Between the 3 stars they do it dirty. But tourny time is when guard play is key. And ducks have the guards in terms of speed and control against the chaotic press. The scoring from the ducks guards is something to be desired though. I know the paint is owned by Dieng, but Kaliki (name spellings?) is a motor. Won't cause matchup problems But won't back down and be pain in butt. Nastra, keep doin what you do. Just wanted to hear what you were feeling. Thought both Louisville and Florida lines were a bit high. |

i resent that Sity51SP, ive lived in cali and grew up in The D. We get the tree from canada, it might not be from a cali clinic but i will vouch for D bud. Cali bud is cheaper though, thats for sure. BTW, that logo is hands down the coolest in basketball, even thoguh the NBA sucks.

ive been relocated for work and dont have a bookie. If i want to bet, it will have to be online. Im not finding a trustworthy bookie in the new city. My wagers are an average of $100

I have patrolled this site for almost a decade. I have been doing the contests, forums, ect sparingly for a few years. I have been using a bookie forever. Alot easier when you know the guy for years rather than an online site in a tech world. Im old school, sure. But ive known my bookie pretty much my entire life. There was a trust there. I guess what i am saying is: are there trustworthy online sites? Trust with payment processes, security, maybe even legit? I figure every online site is technically "bet at own risk" bc of the whole legality issue..... any betting sites, comments, any small input would be greatly appreciated. This is the first time i have ever had this situation and i have always wondered why people trust websites for this kind of stuff? I never really had to explore the online world of sports betting, i guess because i was always handicapping games. Thanks all

here are your answers
1) the team seams to be in a collective funk. Its baseball, this happens, just a bad time 2) the starter are raw and gets K's, a good recipe vs any slumping player 3)Your 240 home runs are deceitful. The crappy disgrace stadium is a joke and Rauls home run the other night is another pop out everyhere else 4) dont sell yourself short, ichiro got a hit today |

Stop your wishful thinking. Your making us 'Prospects" look foolish. Take the tigers run line if your scared of the price, Verlander and Detroit are the play. Verlander will get hit a bit. Giving up a couple runs. But tigers bats will be at home. That will be a mess for NY thinking they might have punched through. Tigers will rake today. Tigers win 6-2

bk window, i repectfully disagree
let Scherzer finish the 6th. If you do pull him, bring in porcello or smyle. Both can go through an order pretty effectively. Bring in dotel in 8th. Al in 9th. When i saw both Cokes bitch ass annd Dotel warming up, my "oh shit" moment began. That meant Benoit, Coke, Valverde were ALL GOING TO PITCH that game, 3 gas cans guaranteed to play. Fuck your loyalty Jim. There are players in our pen that get shafted bc of loyalty. like Villareal being left off the roster. Last night was the reason why you even put smyle n porcello on the playoff roster. after prince solo shot, you have 2 men on no outs. Any fool knows this game let alone series will not have runs.... WHY GO FOR THE BIG INNING? it is absurd. Just bunt a man over with no outs, peralta is king of DP and it makes me so mad when leyland turns a blind eye to players weaknesses. peralta should have bunted or come out the damn game. |

@ DanTos
People don't like it, but WAR measures value better than any stat out there, and Trout BLOWS the competition out of the water. The MVP is not for the best hitter in baseball, it's for the most valuable all around player. That includes offense, defense, and baserunning..... Foolish foolish foolish. WAR is actually not a good stat. Cabrera WAR is something like 7 games. With out him tigers are anywhere from 12-17 games worse, and i think im low balling it. WAR is an imaginary stat, w no real value bc it is a hypothetical. |

Dido. Gotta say Kobe blew whatever chance they had in the series. That was ugly watching him the final 4 mins. When he clanked the baseline shot it got real bad for him. But since he's won so many rings I can't rip him as much as lebron. Once lebron gets to Kobe status he can get all the free passes wants.

Indiana poses a lot of small problems matchup wise. They got length to manage D. And players can get on hot streaks at home. If Indy can mange to not turn the ball over constantly I think they could have a solid lead. Then it's up to lebron n wade to hit shots. Cause they sure as hell not getting a board in crunch time. I do expect scoring on both ends. Roll players hit shots and scrap at home.
I don't get why people think that the chip is on miami shoulder bc of what transpired in 4th and end game. Did you see David west gather his guys. I have to believe that whatever he said in the locker room GAVE INDY THE CHIP ON SHOULDER. If not for the Wade tackle. That hit was as egregious as they come. Let's just take away the actual severity of the cheap shot. Wade was mad and frustrated. He showed it over and over. Wade went hunting for someone out of intent. Suspend him. The NBA is a shit show. It's TRUELY not a good brand of basketball. But man is it entertaining. Bad basketball. Good fun

And at this point if you gave me either lebron or durant to lead my team weather it's rebuilding or a run at the chip, I'm taking Durant. From what they have displayed thus far career wise lebron is more of a liability.…but then again if it were my team, I might just scare his bitch ass to play the way I want to, AND THE WAY HE NEEDS TO.

Durant is without a doubt on lebrons level. I think of it this way. If lebron had Durants body, and durant had lebrons body, DURANT would roll the nba. Lebron would just be another average player. What I'm saying is, DURANTS GOT SKILLS. Lebrons gifted, Yes. But his actual basketball talent level is not in Durants level. Lebron is a physically gifted guy. Once he polishes up a jump shot or two and can compete consistently as a 4, we can talk. Probably putting him at a higher expectation Bc at that point the dude will dominate. But remember one thing. Durant is younger and can polish up. I think he is more. Apable of doing it quicker. We will see.

Verladner! Just a side note, he has given up 4 runs in 2 games since end of May, both times were against the Whitesox who have had his number his entire career. Besides those two hiccups he has been lights out. He should get the Cy Young, and im betting its the first of many, he has 4 great pitches and can crank it up as the game goes deeper. That is exactly what you need for longevity in the majors.

you my boy weez, got Cuse and Florida too, just wondering what your logic on the michigan game is? I have been waiting to see the line since last week and fully expected a pickem or ill slight fav. I would never have thought mich would be fav, especially at -3..seems fishy.
im using the same logic as my uconn pick last night, but the major difference is...MICHIGAN BLOWS. They were overrated pre-season and under achieved all year, other than sims and harris, the wolverines throw a bunch of fecal matter on the court. Even if harris and sims combine for 45pts i think they lose. illinois is playing for something and michigan isnt, when it comes to collage hoops i have always thought...these are collage kids, if a game is that much more important to one team than the other, the will/drive/determination will carry them in most games.... GOOOD LUUUCK TOOOO YOOUUU SSSSIIIIIIRRRRRRR!!!!!!! |

anski, care to elaborate on your west va pick? I like uconn, but its weighed heavily on the fact that its a resume game/west va loves to think about what they will eat for dinner usually around 13 min mark of 2nd half. Note: was it me or did u see this too, west va beat setonhall by 12, they blew a 19pt lead, again. The final few minutes were strange, just uneven whistles by refs, after every whistle you could see the frustration in seton hall, and west va were opportunistic. They couldve lost that game. Either way if im not making money, im glad you are.................
ODE TO "D-TOWN" he is a man of few words, in my 3 years just browsing covers.com, i dont think he has typed more than 4 words in a post. His presence in a thread is stout. Impactful messages are best when to the point. His glorious avatar is truely zen. It makes one want to light up a smoke, sitback, relax, and crush the books.....chears D-Town!! |
