Good Morrow, my game-day gangsters. Let us take time today, to remember to BE GREEN.
>>>>Previous Thread<<<< (A) SDP [+1.5] -110 The Braves visited the Padres earlier this month. I'm convinced that, had it not been for Latos' series-opening pitching performance, ATL would likely have swept said series. This scenario is not the same as the previous one. However, it is a Game 1 series-opening contest. The Bravos have dropped the first game of their two most recent home series (first PHI then FLA). Jurrjens was atop the hill in that recent series-opening loss to the Phils. (A) TEX +170 Chamberlain hasn't pitched since the 16th (of August). When last he face the Rangers (at the end of May in Arlington), he only lasted 4 innings. It difficult to deny they great home field record, however. The Yanks are 41-18 at home. The Rangers are 41-24 in their home yard. Now tell me again how "over-matched" these cowboys are . . . (H) PIT -105 The Bucs will be better rested and ready to avenge their being swept, in their mid-July visit to CBBP. Philly looked alright in their recent series against the Mets. For as dominant as they've been on the road, I don't believe that they blew anybody away (w/ that NYM effort). I'll take Ohlendorf over "Fat Joe" any ole day of the week. Prior to losing the finale of their recent series against the Reds, the Pirates had been on a five game win-streak. (H) TOR +126 Strictly a play on the pitching match-ups for me. If the Jays want to avert getting swept in their own house, they need to claim a Game 2 victory. If they win today, they know they'll have a chance for a win in Game 3. If they lose this game . . . they may as well not show up to The Rogers Centre this Wednesday. CWS/BOS - UNDER\9.5 {+105} Since that score-a-thon w/ the Yanks, these BoSox seem to have gotten a real taste for scoring runs again. Lord knows, The Red Sox have a knack for scoring big numbers on their home field. The White Sox, while perhaps not always a 'runs-producing powerhouse', certainly have the bats to take advantage of the Red Sox somtimes effective bullpen. On the other hand, Lester has (for the most part) been 'golden' at Fenway Park. And I still believe Garcia can will pitch a gem of his own. At the very least, I don't see either getting their lamp(s) lit. (H) FLA [-1.5] -105 Francoeur and Santana are out now as well?! There must be some sort of Voodoo curse on that team. I almost feel sorry for them. The Marlins will be rested and waiting to tear them a new one. Coming off of two consecutive losses, they ought to be that much hungrier for a 'W' tonight. Gosh. The Phils hate the Mets, the Braves hate the Mets, the Fish hate the Mets . . . Perhaps being reviled the way they are, has manifested itself into New York's epic injury woes. Hmm . . . that could be what's going on w/ that ball club. (A) WSH +220 This whole series should be an easy one for the Cubs. A little over a month ago, Chicago swept a four-gamer in Washington. A four-gamer. The collective tally of said series was CHC-26, WSH-11. The most merciless beating was the fourth an' final game of that four-game stretch, and 11-3 Cubs win. Mock was on the mound for the Nats in that final tilt. Chicago was humiliated in their recent swing through California (2-5) . . . *sigh* You know what . . . Zambrano hasn't pitched since the 1st of August. However "great" his numbers look, have no relevance to this game. Rest has never proven to be the Cubs' magic tonic. As far as 'being humiliate' goes, the Cubs are no strangers to humiliation. They'd be the first to tell you that one. (A) CLE +148 Just between you, me and the trees, I believe the Royals have 'packed it in' for the season. It's funny, when I watch the Royals, I don't even liken them to a minor league club. For me, it is truly like watching a college team. I reckon they're a lot like the Athletics in this way. The Indians received four top-ten prospects, for dealing Lee to the Phillies. This final third of the season, has been (and will likely continue to be) their way of putting the rest of the AL Central on notice. (A) LAD -113 L.A. has had COL's number, all season long. Following that 14-inning marathon the Rox played Monday night, the Dodgers look to have all the advantages tonight. Kershaw hasn't helmed his team to a victory since the 18th of July. I reckon he's due. Frankly, he's OVER-due. Maybe "the lads" can keep from fuckin' up, what should be a relatively easy win. BOL, gentlemen ~ g |

Garcia was listed when I capped this game 12 hours ago. If he is no longer scheduled to get the start, then that game is 'no action' for me. This sort of thing falls within the category of 'betting basics'. You need me to come over later and wipe your ass too, sweetheart. |

Already another player in scoring position w/ less than 2 outs. Let's cash these runs in, WSH.

Too bad that hit by Willingham didn't get through the infield. WSH isn't gonna win this thing w/ that lone run.
Alright Willie . . . blank these beer-makers. |

Fielder is such a fatty. He best to make like Ryan Howard and get his stomach stapled.
