Yates did not carve up the canes. His stats are reflective of the YAC's from the lack of DB play on the Canes. (btw 218 yds on the day is not very good in college football when you consider the team went up 27-0 in the first half) UNC's points came off UM's mistakes. UNC is not good enough to hang within 6 points of SC. Do you think UNC is emotionally ready to play another huge game? Team is too young and immature imo.

other games that jump out.... BC -14 (nobody tell me ND matches up nicely in this one. They match up nicely with a 6 year old girl in football pads..... UCLA could be as bad as ND....so dont gimme they knocked off UCLA.....ND overvalued for the habitual ND backers ) Rutgers -16 (my intramural flag football team could spank Cuse. Miami Northwestern High School could beat them and that is a def possibility. Rutgers is due to lay a beat down.) TCU -4.5 (Stanford won their superbowl. They are done for the season. pack it up boys, game over.) |

As a miami fan, I watched the entire UM v. UNC game. UM has too many issues to begin naming, but UNC is downright horrocious. I mean damn, did anyone else see SC's defense destory Kentucky's offense? The difference here is UNC has no defense, and they could have possibly one of the worst QB's in the country, Kyle Wright obviously being worse. UNC off an emotional victory and SC is coming off a long week of rest, they play at Chapel Hill but that isn't much of a hostil environment. SC has already proved they can win on the road. Any reason why Spurrior wont run up the score? This is a too good to be true line but damn, I'm tempted to hammer it. Thoughts?

as a Canes fan I don't see any value in this game either way. Ga Tech coming off a road loss going on the road again, Miami off a gross loss playing in the OB. Much better games on the board imo.

If recruiting, discipline, and team attitude is any indication of how a team may do in the future, and I make no claim as to the validity of that presumption, then the Canes will be a national competitor in the years to come. Make no mistake, this may be a close game, but it may well be a blowout by the start of the 3rd Q. And mark it down in your Phill Steelle, the Canes will win. This post is not meant to be an attack against you personally Wahoo, or considered as smart or cute in anyway. I love open discussion about football and I feel that the betters on this forum have the right to informed information. This is just my opinion and analysis which differs from Wahoo’s and others on this forum. This is just my two cents, and nothing more. And if it was not obvious enough in my analysis, I am a Canes homer. The Pundit

Wahoo, while I agree that the Canes are not as good as they will be in years to come, I must take issue with your "plain and simple reasoning" and post my dissent is as follows: There cannot be a question as to accuracy of the Miami quarterbacking as of late: 21-26 against A&M and 20-25 against Duke. Combine those stats and you will clearly see that UM qb’s have been 41-51 with 2INT’s in the past 2 games. Keep in mind that Wright has been the starter and has taken all but 2 of the pass attempts referred to. However, there is a question of decision making on the part of Kyle Wright. If you watched the Duke game, which you were unable to do, you would have seen that Wright threw an interception in Duke’s endzone on a 1st down in the 3rd Q that allowed Duke a gigantic momentum shift. Coupled with a missed field goal to end the 1st half, in the open endzone of the Orange Bowl, with 25knot WSW winds the Canes should have been up 20-0 over Duke. On the ensuing drive Calais Campbell was flagged with a late hit on the qb call on a 3rd and 18 play to keep Duke’s drive alive. Duke converts a 41yd passing touchdown beating Randy Phillips in man coverage to make the score 10-7. The game could have easily have been over in the second drive of the 3rd Q. However, mental errors and lack luster effort on the part of both offense and defense created an appearance, albeit a warranted one, that the Canes are “plain and simpl[ly]” not good. If you were at the game, which again, you were not, or if you had watched the game, which you did not, you would have seen the domination exerted by the Canes in the 1st quarter, which, as was apparent by most top 10 teams this week, was only to be seen again in the 4th quarter when the Canes were challenged. I could speak of Miami’s rushing attack as of the season but I will refer to the latin phrase “res ipsa locquitor” which means “the thing speaks for itself.” UNC cannot be considered at the same level as the University of Miami, in terms of talent, physicality, confidence, and as their record would indicate, ability. This will be UNC’s super bowl as, it is for most teams, (FIU, Duke) in order to claim they have knocked off the Canes, which is in retaliation for the Canes domination of the early 2000’s. Butch Davis will be good for UNC, but not this year, and not against UM. |

I am from Tampa, all my friends went to USF, my sister is in Med School there, I have been to many USF games at Ray Jay, etc. Everyone and their mom is hyping this game and has been talking about how great the Bulls are this year. While I agree this is a Rutgers-esk type of weeknight game, where no one was actually a fan for anytime before the team actually started winning, and now everyone is jumping on the bandwagon, and everyone claims to be a Bulls football expert, this team doesn't have the talent to compete with WVU. Will they keep it close on Friday? Yes, I believe so just because of the sellout and the adrenaline and the hype. Don't play it on the money line.....USF will not win this game. If you are set on playing USF, take the points.

Florida's secondary is soft and their schedule has been too. They should be overvalued going into LSU and will get stomped.

Anyone who compares our offense to the Colts is on crack. Our offense is in the bottom 10% of all offenses in the country. Moreover, we have beaten two of the worst teams in college football (Marshall 0-3 lost to New Hampshire, FIU 0-3 and beaten by Penn St. 58-0) and we were slaughtered by our only real competition which was only 2 weeks ago. How does this sound: Miami is 1-7 in the last 8 against ranked teams. Miami is 9-8 in the last 17. On the other hand, A&M was 5-0 on the road last season and they are 4-0 this season and are ranked #20. Again, I point out that Miami is 1-7 against ranked teams in their last 8. Lastly, I was at the FIU game and saw first hand that we are really dealing with especially since we gave up 160 yards rushing to FIU. Don't buy into all the Canes at home hype, that was early 2000 era, every year we think the Canes will turn around and we are always dissapointed. I've been to every Canes game this year and every game in the last 4 years, minus bowl games. They are my team and I will represent the U even if we went 0-11. I love the Canes but if I was betting the proposition looks pretty clear to me. That being said Veech, I'll be in E-4 around 4:30pm today. Let's give em hell! |

Oregon -17 at Stanford.
Oregon has gone 3-0 ATS this year beating the spread by 4, 31, and 35.5 pts this year. These were all games against decent teams at home with [ Houston (1-1) and Fresno St. (1-2 overtime loss at A&M) ] and on the road at Michigan (1-2) in the Big House.
It seems like Dixon is clicking with the offense and the running game is helping keep pessure off him. Oregon's defense is slightly suspect but their numbers off the first 3 games match up pretty well with Stanfords, keep in mind, Stanford padded their stats off their last game with SJST. Speaking of SJST.....Stanford is coming off a 37-0 smashing of pathetic SJST. It should be noted that SJST's game at Stanford was the 3rd road game in a row for the Spartans so don't give Stanford too much credit for the blow out.
I think Oregon is capable of Winning this game by 20+. Head to head I think any opponent Oregon has faced would beat Stanford. Oregon hasn't faced any slouches this year so far. They are in a damgerous look ahead spot with Cal next week, and being on the road this week they might play a little down.
Considering all this, I am still leaning towards Oregon. What is the consensus on this game? Thoughts and Opinions Welcome!

Veech whats up my man. Got to the Ok City Marriot Renaissance, went to check in and who do I see sitting in the lobby? Richard Gordon. The team is staying here so we're in good company. There are a ton of UM fans here and hopefully I meet more out tonight in the city. Canes in full force.
SoonerFan - you going to the game tomorrow?
