Yes, a 2 week layoff tends to slow down the offenses in the first 2 drives of a game, but I have the Patriots being an exception to that rule. Brady and Bill will come out very sharp in my opinion, and whether the same happens for the Giants, I don't think it will matter. 2. The "establish the run" approach is no longer what it used to be in the NFL (especially with teams like the Packers/Lions/Patriots). Yes, the majority of teams in the NFL NEED to establish the run because of their lack of strong QB and receiver play, but like the 3 teams I just mentioned, they could pass 90% of the game and still win the game. I think the Pittsburgh Steelers of the last few years is a great example of the overall point I'm trying to make. Again, I feel BOTH teams will do what they think they have to do to win the Super Bowl, and that is throwing the ball. New England knows that they will not be able to run effectively against the front 4 of the Giants, and the Patriots organization has more than enough confidence in Tom Brady's leadership and passing ability to lead them through the air if necessary. This is just my personal take. There are many guys on here that know much more than I do and I'm sure are on the other side of my thoughts. Either way, it will be fun. |

1. Playing in a dome with 2 very good quarterbacks 2. Very weak defensive backs on both teams 3. I think Brady and the Patriots will play "up tempo" or "no huddle" on and off during the game to wear down the Giants front four. 4. The receivers/tight ends on these two teams are VERY GOOD. I understand that "Gronk" is far from 100%, but still, Brady and his receivers look literally unstoppable most of the time and Manning and his crew have looked just as good (if not better) during the playoffs. I look for BOTH teams to have a "pass first" approach in this game, not because they think they can't run, but more because each team knows for a fact that they can throw on each other. I think the side is a 50/50 shot. I'll take my chances with the "OVER". Enjoy the game! |

Yavapai, Great info once again. I will look up Jimmy when I arrive Friday afternoon. Although I do not play props, I may be forced to with the screw ups like that! Haha. Thanks again. |

Yavapai - Thanks so much for your information. It's clear you know how Vegas works (from the inside out). I might fly back out for the Superbowl. If I do I will sure take your advice and give Lucky's a shot. Worse case situation would be that I have to go to 3 or 4 different books and split it up. Is "Jimmy Vaccaro" a sports book manager at "Lucky's"?

It seems that the people in this thread really know and see the "real" Las Vegas. I've been playing cards and betting on sports since I was 8 years old. My first trip was to Vegas was a few weeks during the first round of the NFL playoffs. I have to say that it was NOTHING as to what I expected. I stayed in "Rome" (it was some US Air vacation deal I could not pass up). By no means am I a picky person, but the room was average (although I spend little time there), customer service was average at best, and the part that pissed me off the most was that I could not wager more than $20,000 on a football game!!! I brought out 80k in cash planning to put it all on the Steelers -8.5 (like an idiot). I walk up to the sports book window at Caesar's Palace and say I'd like to put 80k on the Steelers -8.5 and the "supervisor" looked at me like I had 3 eyes. "We can't take bets that high" he said. "Is this not Las Vegas, Nevada, the gaming capitol of the world?", I said. I was very pissed. I thought that's what Vegas was for. I flew 3,000 miles to place a simple legal wager and they say, "no, we can't". Now I understand that the average person isn't betting 80k on a game, but holy shit, this is Vegas???? I could go on and on, but I have to say, Vegas was not even close to what I thought it was going to be. I guess the only question I would have for you people who live there is: Where can you go and place large wagers (20k and up and preferably with without paperwork)?

"teasers" would not be made available to you if Vegas lost money on them.
