Still looking for that bounceback. Recap (from Sunday):
Anaheim Ducks @ Winnipeg Jets (-133): LOSS Philadelphia Flyers @ Carolina Hurricanes (-130): WIN 5-8 (-2.99) 2013-2014 NHL Probably holding off write-ups until I get on a bit of a run; just doesn't seem worth it. Biggest factors will usually be bet %, line movement, schedule/situational plays: Carolina Hurricanes (+187) @ Pittsburgh Penguins Minnesota Wild @ Nashville Predators (-125) Phoenix Coyotes (+120) @ New York Islanders BOL to the forum

tepham, boobunny, nailed-it, BOL to all you guys.
Boobunny: Yeah, Toronto has been bailed out by some stellar goaltending so far. It'll be interesting to see if they can shore up the rest of their game before that good goalie fortune runs out. Nailed-it: That might be selling last year's Ottawa a bit short, but I'm going to have to hold off shots against Calgary until I watch them a bit more.

Back down again. Recap:
New York Islanders @ New Jersey Devils (-103): LOSS Nashville Predators @ Colorado Avalanche + Calgary Flames @ Columbus Blue Jackets - 2 team parlay (+120): LOSS 3-5 (-1.84) 2013-2014 NHL Apparently fading Calgary isn't as easy as I thought. Picks for today (no time for write-ups): Ottawa Senators (+123) @ Toronto Maple Leafs Anaheim Ducks @ Minnesota Wild (-132) Columbus Blue Jackets (+108) @ New York Islanders BOL out there

mags, let's go get it.
Adding another two-teamer: Calgary Flames @ Columbus Blue Jackets + Nashville Predators @ Colorado Avalanche - 2 team parlay (+163) For CGY/CBJ: Calgary gave it their best shot and still came up short in WSH. Has to be a tough blow to a team that knows it's the bottom rung of the league. Tough to get back up from that on b2b. I think they lay an egg in Columbus For NSH/COL: Nashville is on the second leg of a b2b following a divisional matchup against a physical St. Louis team. And now they get the thin air in Denver and a fired up, young Colordao team. Not to mention Pekka looked off last night. Bonus: Last time Varly saw the Preds? Shutout BOL

Recap:
New Jersey Devils (+161) @ Pittsburgh Penguins: LOSS Nashville Predators @ St. Louis Blues + Calgary Flames @ Washington Capitals - 2 team parlay (+120): WIN 3-3 (+0.16) 2013-2014 NHL One for now: New York Islanders @ New Jersey Devils (-103) The line move has made this a go price for me. Still think the Devils have the makings of a real team, as I wrote yesterday. On top of that, they got the first game jitters out and get the home-opener lift. Throw in the 'Marty's last opener' for good measure and this is a live home dog to me. Might be back with more later. BOL to all

Adding two team parlay (+120):
Calgary Flames @ Washington Capitals + Nashville Predators @ St. Louis Blues Not sure if I'll start rolling two teamers into the bet arsenal for good, but these two just seem like surefire winner spots. Nashville still can't score and Rinne is coming off a lackluster season + injury. Meanwhile, Calgary is garbage. That should almost be enough justification right there. But on top of that Washington has one game under their belt already and they're better in every phase of the game. |

Recovery. Recap:
Toronto Maple Leafs (+112) @ Philadelphia Flyers: WIN Anaheim Ducks @ Colorado Avalanche (-119): WIN 2-2 (-0.04) 2013-2014 NHL Back to pretty much all square. Brand new season. I've got one in so far: New Jersey Devils (+161) @ Pittsburgh Penguins The NJD have been written off for dead after losing Kovy and Clarkson. People seem to think is the entire New Jersey offense. I'm sure Clarkson is a swell guy and all, but he's not the 30+ goal scorer Toronto is paying him to be. Meanwhile, losing a top end talent like Kovy sucks, but the combined additions of Ryder, Jagr, and Clowe will go a long way to patching that up. Throw in an upgrade in net (I love you Brodeur, but you're old), and this team is better than last year's. Granted, even an improved NJ is no Pittsburgh. But this negative perception is hanging too sweet a line on NJ for me to pass. Neal is out, Letang is out, and maybe worst of all, Fleury is in. The Devils can hang in this one, which is enough for me to pull the trigger. Others I'm looking at: PHX, RLM like that has got my attention. As always, BOL to the forum . |
