If you like at a rankings that lists all FBS teams like the Sagarin rankings, not just the top 25 , every SEC team played a lesser ranked opponent in the rankings.

I know 1) we live in the moment and 2) we see Jameis Winston stinking it up in the NFL so we forget how great he was, but, in my opinion, the 2013 Florida State Seminoles were better than the 2019 LSU Tigers. The Seminoles covered the spread in almost 80% of the games, while the Tigers covered the spread in just over 50% of it's games. According to FEI, the Seminoles were #1 in offense and #1 in defense, compared to the Tigers 2nd and 15th. It took a 42-point extra game to pass the Seminoles record of points scored in a season by 3 points (Seminoles 723 points in 14 games, LSU 726 in 15 games). Teams averaged 12 points against FSU; it's average score was 52-12. Besides the title game, they beat every team by at least two touchdowns. |

Second V tech TD was off an obvious penalty that shouldn't have resulted in a TD. 11 v tech "injuries" when FSU gets it going. Crazy game. |

I will keep it short and simple. I'm on FSU -7.5 huge. I think people are giving Virginia Tech more credit than due because of a perceived coaching advantage. While I always analyze coaching matchups, I don't think it will outweigh the huge edge FSU has in star talent and experience. While FSU had to replace some top tier players, like Derwin James, from the draft, Virginia Tech has had a huge tuenover from last year. More than half it's starters are gone; 11 true freshman on the depth chart; and a lack of experience all across the board. Virginia Tech will be returning their star sophomore QB, but there are not a lot of options on the offensive side of the ball. I think people are forgetting how good Francois can be from FSU. A top 3 qb out of high school, had a really good freshman year, but was hurt last year. Coming back late in the off-season, people weren't even sure he could capture the backup position, but word out of Tallahassee is that he is more deadly and accurate than ever. He's got three RBs in the back all rated #1 or #2 out of high school, 2 with significant experience. Experience on the line and in the receiving corp. Both defenses will have turnover, but FSU has some star power. A few players on Mel Kipers new big board. The style of play will be different, but I expect FSU to easily cover the 7.5. Never has Foster coached a defense as inexperienced as the one they will field tonight. |

Was against FSU this week and last. Unimaginable that they were favored the last two weeks. For the ENTIRE year, they are down three starting offensive linemen, starting quarterback, starting running back, and WR3.

The talent is there. I think Houston gets the run game going. I know UCF's rush defense is legit, but if they get the run game going it's over. I also like the coaching advantage. I expect big things during primetime.

Well, I guess the best thing to come out if week 3 is that I am still UNDEFEATED in my 3-unit big plays. I was actually once again undefeated in my early picks, going 3-0 this week. I wanted more action and added more picks, but should have stuck with 3. Even played FSU when I said I would only play a very small amount. 5-4 so far with 1 bet still pending. Will give updated W-L and units tomorrow. I believe I'm up around .6 units this week so at least I leave the week in the plus again. Miami -3.5 (3 units) Texas A&M +3.5 (1 unit) Ohio State -1.5 (2 units) Vandy +7 (1 unit) San Jose State +13 (2 units) Missouri +7 (1 unit) Florida State +1.5 (2 units) Washington State -27 (1 unit) Alabama -10 (1 unit) Pitt +3.5 (1 unit) |

THURSDAY Louisville -39 (1 unit) Tennessee -20 (1 unit) Big mistake on my part in this game. I have always been a true believer that the SEC East, as most stats support, is the worst division in the Power 5. I strongly dislike Dobbs at QB. I just felt like the defense and run game would be stronger. SATURDAY Ga Tech -3 (1 unit) PUSH Oklahoma/Houston over 65 (2 units) - should be a score-FEST Georgia -2.5 (1 unit) SMU -9.5 (1 unit) Florida Under 51 (3 units) - I expect a shutout by Florida's defense putting the 51 point over/under on the back of the Florida Gator's offense. Can the offense that scored 1 offensive TD against FAU and that averaged 1 TD over its last 4 games post 51 points? I highly doubt it. They lose their leading QB, RB, and WR. They have suspensions on both sides of the ball. Easy money. Feel bad for anyone on Florida in this game (or any game for that matter) They have no one outside that defense, a WR, and their new kicker. Only 2 TDs against UMass. Gonna be a hard, long season for this offense. Clemson -7.5 (1 unit) - Watson's potential heisman candidacy starts with a huge showing week 1. MONDAY FSU -4 (2 units) - Basically a home game for FSU. I will be going to this game. I even bought my tickets from Ole Miss's allotment a few weeks ago as Ole Miss was nowhere close to selling out their ticket allotment. Better talent for FSU all across the board. They bring back arguably the best player in football on both sides of the ball. I expect a heavy dose of Cook throughout the game. A healthy cook may hands down be the best RB in college football. A deep, experienced o-line. WR's stacked with top-5 recruits. Kicking game still on point. Defensive line one of the best in the country. Secondary deep. I see linebackers as the big weakness. Ole Miss brings back veteran QB Chad Kelly, yet has to replace a majority of its playmakers on both sides of the ball. Lastly, weather should play a huge factor. A lot of rainfall in store for the week and the game only compliments FSU's run game. Leans Wake Forest -17 LOSE Kansas State +16 WIN Michigan -40 WIN Cheers to all. One game left. Come on FSU. Already up, lets keep it going. Good luck all.
