Husker Homer here. Have had people all week telling me the Huskers are going to KILL Texas. Just wanted to get on here and say that those are the people that don't follow college football, just their beloved Huskers. As a homer that actually follows the game, I'll predict Nebraska to win 27-17.

I've got them for 1 Unit...but then again I'm from Nebraska, so take it for what it's worth. But I feel like Pelini will try to shorten the game and keep it close. I think Texas will lead start to finish, but think they will only win by 10.

But as long as we're talking about numbers, I'm pretty sure Beamer had losing seasons in 4 of his first 6 at Va. Tech. So even though Beamer is well respected now, he didn't use to be...just sayin that every coach has to start somewhere, and 11-4 isn't too bad of a start. |

I've been following these forums for a couple years now and decided I'd post my plays so that I could get a little input (like/dislike)
8-5 ytd
Nevada -3... I feel like they're a far better team than Colorado State, like the price
UTEP -13.5... They're much better than they've looked thus far and I think New Mexico St. is just what the doctor ordered.
Minnesota +14... I actually have Cal as one of my sleeper teams for the NC this year, but 14 on the road seems a little steep.
W. Michigan -17.5... W. Mich got throttled by Mich and lost a close one to a not very good Indiana team, but both games were on the road and now they're playing Miami OH, a team that still has yet to score a point this season, at home. W. Mich by 3 TD's+
Colorado -7 (that's right, even after their first 2 games)...Colorado has looked AWFUL their first two games, but it's now or never for Hawkins (though it might already be too late) and Colorado is a far more talented team than Wyoming, I'll take CU minus the points and pray that they pull their heads out before Saturday.
I don't usually play so much chalk, making an exception this week though. Let me know what you think.

The coaching matchup in this game heavily favors V Tech- it's no contest. Beamer will still be winning games for the Hokies in three seasons while Pelini will have moved on to his next DC gig.[/Quote] I'm from Nebraska and am a big Husker fan. That being said, I would not bet on Nebraska in this spot, they're too young at LB, too inexperienced at QB and too soft in the secondary. But for you to say that in 3 years Pelini will have moved on to his next DC gig, you've lost all credibility. Pelini is a hard-nosed coach who is loved in Nebraska and gets the fullest potential out of his players. Though we're not back yet and will likely never get back to where we once were, Pelini is a guy that can atleast get us back on the national map. Pelini kind of reminds me of another coach..... We all know Iowa can't score, so if it stays close to the spread it will most definately stay under.

I've been on the Overs all day, but am worried with it shrinking to 68ish. Is it going down cuz they want more Over action, or just cuz of the possible bad weather?!? Any thoughts?? Thanks.

nyduccie,
I'd take Wake plus the points. Sure it'd be nice getting more for your money, but opposite of last year, Wake is finding ways to LOSE games this year, eg.- Nebraska. I expect a close game, but I myself am taking the points for insurance.

Unders is the play here. Wake is gonna be up for the Thursday night game. While they don't have the offense to hang with Fla. St., I think that their defense will have them in it going into the 4th. Not confident enough in them covering, but I am taking the Unders.

I'm new to this forum, but have been following Wyoming all season and I also think that this spread is a little too small. Evidently there's something Vegas knows that I don't. But if they're expecting a close game, then I'm expecting the unders. (49.5 is what I have it at right now.)
