There is one thing about these periodic (or constant) silly debates that does make me curious: why do people act like it is impossible to bet 20 games per day?

I'm familiar with Train's football body of work, but not in basketball. I work a lot and have 3 small kids, so I will freely admit I don't always cap my own games. Train, if you or other followers have any feedback on your basketball history that would be great. I've been reading his material for long enough that if he says "i'm at 56% over the past 5 seasons in cbb", that would have credibility with me.

Where did he go, and/or where can I find him? Hoping for something more detailed than "maybe he went tout." If that's the case, I don't see that as a negative. I had discovered him late, and now don't see any posts from him.

That was a tough outcome at the end of that Astros-Angels game for those backing Simon's Astros play. Would've been a nice pop. With 2 outs and a man on first, you kind've think that game is going to come through. On to the next one.

Yes, Simon, while I missed quite a bit of the amazing run I have now begun following your plays so hopefully I'm not mistiming the market, but I don't think I am. I may lay off the TX play tonight since Phixer is on Sea and I have a lot of respect for his opinions after watching his NBA work. I will likely stay with NYY since you have it rated very strongly. If Mavin approved and anyone volunteered, I'd love to get any bio info from you, Phixer, KingMidas, Turbo, etc. Not personal stuff, just basics like maybe age, education level, wagering experience and whatever wagering history, philosophy, etc that someone might be willing to volunteer. Just a thought. Could be helpful for everyone's educations, and to those of us willing to admit we're more followers than cappers.

We're here. Let's just all try to forget that happened with that guy. Fairly big NBA card tonight, so hopefully some picks and discussion of tonight's games will start soon.

Hopefully I made myself clear that I wasn't griping about any explanations or anything, but instead trying to send a message that everything is certainly good enough for me. It appears that most of those involved in this thread are strong enough not to let nitpickers disrupt things too much, but I've seen many people in the past get upset and leave the forums that I think could've contributed a lot, so i get paranoid. Mavin, do you anticipate this thread extending to other sports beyond NBA? If equal talent can be built up for baseball, that could be deadly.

He goes back to South Carolina. Even though he might be the 1st pick this year if he could come out, he isn't eligible for the NFL draft until after next season. Players aren't eligible to declare for the draft until they have been out of high school for 3 years.

This is all so silly to me, all this "a bet is a bet" stuff. Of course the "bet" Boom made was a juvenile, 2nd grader form of bravado. It certainly makes him look foolish. However, when I get on this forum I'm looking for two things: handicapping knowledge and entertainment. If you don't like his picks, then ignore. If you don't think his posts are entertaining, don't read. It's harmless. If he wants to post, I have no problem.

there's a capper that I think used to be on covers, but now he posts his plays (surprisingly free) on a website. I used to track it some, but now my web history and I can't remember. It isn't www.livegamestoday.com, but it was three words together and it is driving me crazy. Guy up like 220 units on the year, occasionally has bigger plays on soccer and even tennis. And no, not sportsplaystoday which was investments4U. Is this enough info for someone to help me out?

that's great info, dooma. I'm curious, how were you able to calculate those statistics? I would have no idea where to find a database to find all those 1st quarter lines for the past, and even then it seems it would take forever to manually track all that down to calculate it. I'm guessing you have a way to type in what you are looking for to get quick mathetmatical data.

I just came across this thread and wanted to make sure I understood the system correctly, so I thought my question about Miami Heat tonight was a reasonable one and not funny. If anyone could answer it that would be great.

Wouldn't the Heat also be a 1st Q play for tonight as I'm showing -3.5 for the full game?

Been following for a little while, but haven't ever posted. Congrats on today's game. Checked this morning and the play wasn't up, and I neglected to check again so I missed it. It hurts, but good call.

Entertaining thread. Whether Walters is the largest (or most successful) sports bettor in the US, I doubt anyone on these boards could know. However, even though there's no way to differentiate between fact or fiction, I think there's been enough information documented to at least confirm he has been a large and successful bettor for a lot of years. Who knows his motivation for agreeing to do the 60 minutes special, but my guess would be he's been asked about interviews for years, and he finally figures what the heck why not give people a glimpse behind the curtain? He's getting older, clearly has a lot of money and many other business interests, and it appears his legal battles over his betting operation appear for now to be in the past. If I was him, it would be entertaining to see so many people debate his mythical status.

I should've known that the day I decided to lay off the over/under plays would be the bounce-back day for them. Great day, milkman. thanks.
