Sports book here is a dump! Today the computers were down and you couldn't even place a bet lol pathetic. On top of that the seats are horrible, they're literally school desks with drink holders! Garbage! Been taking the monorail to the lvh. I personally don't mind the ride and think it's fast and efficient. Maybe others have had bad experiences but I don't have one complaint about it this far and I've rode it 5 times!

Thanks fellas. I figure worse case I'm a monorail ride to the Bellagio, Aria, or LVH. I'll give the book a try tomorrow night just to get a feel for it. I trust your words but gotta check it for myself. I'm actually more concerned with what their betting options are as opposed to whether or not the atmosphere is comfortable or nice. I'll give a breakdown when I get back!

Tough game to call. Arkansas has shown signs in certain spots this year and Auburn's one of those teams you have to hold your breath about. Are they real or will they come crashing back down to earth in a bad way? Auburn has only had two away games all year and Arkansas isn't the easiest place to play. This game is big HUGE Auburn. They go out there and knock Arkansas out like they should on paper and it's a big deal in my opinion because if they manage to win out and only lose against Bama, they'll get a lot of BCS consideration. And that second BCS berth from the SEC is a hot battle right now and that's a big pay check so if Auburn can handle all of the teams they should beat from here on out there is a good chance they'll be playing a new years bowl for big money! Vegas has Auburn ranked the 8th best team in the country so they believe in them. Maybe we all should!

Purdue isn't any good but they have played Ohio State well 3 out of the past 4 years. The one big loss they had was Terrelle Pryor's final year in Columbus (a one loss team) and that was 49-0 beat down however that was a the horseshoe and this game isn't! Tough call on this game. Ohio State has shown ability to stomp teams but also shown a tendency to play down to competition in the Urban Meyer era. They needed OT to beat Purdue last year. Good luck with your bet. Just wanted to add a little something to this thead. I'm staying away from this game but just wanted to warn that Purdue has been a live dog although Ohio State is and on paper should be up 5 TD's by halftime!

Florida's defense is going to have to really stand on it's head to pull this one off. Georgia had a nice week off to get healthy and they're getting back important guys who change the dynamic of the team. Florida is beat up to but problem is they ain't getting those important guys they lost back. It's a rivalry, Florida will play it tough to the bone but the problem is when Florida needs a score they don't have the guys capable of getting them one and Georgia does. They're gonna need big scoring plays from the special teams or defense which they're capable of but it's not something that is likely. I see ending somewhere along the lines of 27-16!!! |

SEC East is crazy. It could turn into a 3 team tie easily. Gotta figure Missouri is gonna lose to either A&M or Ole Miss and get their second SEC loss like UG, Florida, and South Carolina already have. Florida plays Georgia, if Georgia wins it will basically eliminate Florida and then there's South Carolina still lingering around with 2 conference losses as well. Georgia and South Carolina win out and Missouri loses once and there is your 3 team tie. 3 team tie goes out the window if Florida beats UG because Florida and South Carolina still have to play and the loser of that will have a 3rd loss and essentially be eliminated to (unless Missouri really collapses). Crazy how the SEC changed complexion with that Missouri loss. Even with tie breakers considered Missouri basically controls it's own destiny when you see at how the SEC does it's tie breakers but all things considered Georgia, Florida, and South Carolina still have a chance and I can even see Missouri losing twice and one of those teams winning out and stealing the East!

Staying there this weekend. Interested in any feed back any Covers users might have on the Hotel/Casino. Stayed my last 2 times at the LVH but wanted to switch it up to something on the strip and to something a little more up to date. Loved the LVH sportsbook, hence why I chose the Grand (10 minute monorail ride to LVH) although I plan on giving their book a chance (any info on that would be great). Just really looking for an idea of the atmosphere, people, and maybe any inside tips anyone might know or have. I got a room in the West Wing tower!

I just seen ad started this thread August 28th lol now I can sense why he's so excited about this trip, it's been a long wait. I planned all 3 of my trips a week before I left lol. But yeah like Heinz said, you're over thinking it kid, you'll get plenty of rest when you get home. With that said though and as someone who has a 5 to 6 hour flight from NY (long flight like you), my advice is to be as exhausted as possible for your flight. I don't sleep the night before the flight so that I'm so exhausted that when I get on the plane that falling asleep is no problem (you could also use assistance like Heinz said). Before you know it you wake up, you're 3 hours or more into the flight and the rest is a breeze. I've slept literally 4, almost 5 hours on the flight before lol I wake up refreshed as hell with only like an hour of air time left. Trust me, that will do the job. I recommend you try to sleep on your own. But since you seem really psyched and excited for the trip you mentally might not be able to rest your brain knowing you're on your way to Vegas so if you need a shot of some sleep medicine to help you should use it.

Funny you mentioned the World Series game 7 lol I get in Vegas at 3 on Thursday and I'm praying for a Game 7. Not to bet it but just to be out there for a sporting event like that. I went out for week 1 of the NFL and it was great so I'm hoping I can add this to my Vegas experiences.
As far as sportsbook, the LVH is epic but hectic. Gotta get there real early on NFL game days to get a seat although they're very loose about letting you sit at the slots/game seats so it's not you're gonna have to stand. I visited other books but I like the LVH the best not only for atmosphere but also because the book is literally ran like an on line book. Betting options galore so if that's your thing (parlays, teasers, etc etc) you're in good shape! My recommendation to fight exhaustion and fatigue? Sleep on the plane bro. This is my third time flying in from NY to Vegas in the last 2 months, I never have had a problem catching Zzzzz's on the plane and my flight is around noon lol. Mad people sleeping on the flight, you can get a good 2 hours in on that flight from Atlanta. That will get through the day no problem! |

I don't think any book will accept a parlay like that!

I'll be out there Halloween thru the 5th. Third time this football season and can't wait to get back. Gambling through an online book is hell once you experienced the book. Not sure where I'm staying, narrowed it down to the Palms, LVH or MGM Grand. Good luck with your gambling when you're in town bro!

Hoewever it was in the summer and i was out to eat after work, so I didnt get to see if it was packed for baseball. I wouldnt imagine it was. The hallways to the rooms have a god awful smell. I couldnt put my finger on it but it smelled of old mold or something. Did like the sportsbook. How many are there in Vegas? I know there's another one, maybe the Mirage? When it comes to my rooms it was night and day each of my stays. The first time I stayed in a room with a back view of the golf course. It was grungy, moldy, and the shower head in the bathroom literally was at my chest and I'm 5'10, not 6'10. Second time I stayed I had a view of the strip and honestly the room was way cleaner, way bigger, and had a way better vibe. Far from flawless rooms there period but my second room with the view of the strip was just all around better. Comfortable beds both stays though. I only stayed there again the second time because I fell in love with the book and for the hotel price and 5 dollar monorail to the heart of the strip it was a good deal. I'm actually glad I did though because again, the second room with the view of the strip changed my view of the hotel. If I never returned I would have said the same thing you said, it's old, moldy, kind of dirty however if every time I stayed there I got the same kind of room I got the second time, they're worth it for the price in my opinion, especially if you're only out there to just bet sports (like I was)! |

The sportsbook itself gets a little too crazy for me on an NFL Sunday, but the theater is great. I realize you can't get free drinks in the theater, but for $2 beers, it's not a bad spot. Yeah I saw the theater, they have a private one as well as one that the public can gaze into to see what's going on. More of a relaxed atmosphere in there. Pretty sure you got to pay to get in and there wasn't that much seating. I'm sure it's competitive to get a seat in there. I'm sure it's comfortable and obviously it's more intimate with all the game's on right in front of your face. It's like watching the game in your basement if your basement had 15 tv's but honestly it wasn't like watching it in the book itself as far as atmosphere is concerned. I stood by and caught a couple of plays of games at times while I was there (no one said anything) and honestly it was to relaxed. In the stadium seating every play is met with cheer or jeer lol I like that about it, it's crazy NFL Sundays for kick-off. As far as drinks, yeah they have the $2 dollar beers being offered to everyone but again, it's a nice touch to be able to drink whatever you want for basically free just because you placed a bet. I was out there with 10 g's to play with so I had around 500 to a G on each of my bets but my buddy is broke and had like 20 bucks on the game and his tickets were just as valuable as mine when it came to drinks. I like that about the LVH book! |

Stayed at the hotel from the 5th thru the 10th and the 26th thru the 1st. Figured I'd share on the book and if anyone wants to know about the hotel I will be happy to answer any questions. Anyways here's info on the book!
1. Drinks are free if you're gambling. The lady will ask for a ticket, glance it over, and give you drinks all night. Tip her a buck or two every drink and you good. Throw her anywhere from a 5 to a 20 and tell her to remember you and you good for the night and won't have to wait all day and night for her to find you again. Drank every day in the sport book and got hammered literally for 20, 30 bucks in tips to the waitress. Beers, mixed drinks, shots, even drinks on the rocks I got them all without being told no once. Really love this about the LVH book!! Although heads up most of the waitresses are broken down and old lol if you're looking for eye candy go somewhere else!! 2. Seating for college and NFL are a nightmare at kick offs. NFL if you're not down in the book at 6am you're not getting a table or stadium seating. Cool thing is though they're real lax with letting you sit and watch at the video games and slots without playing them. So while it sucks that you're not in one of the stadium seats for the game, at least you're standing. You can usually find a few seats for the 4 o'clock games. Sat in the stadium seats for the 4's both times (was with one buddy who lives out in Vegas) but like I said, you don't camp out for the 1's and it's not happening. College is packed at noon kick off and both times it wasn't till the 7 o'clock games that I was able to get a stadium seat. Any night games I got seating every time (SNF, MNF, College football night games) so basically after the 1's in the NFL you're good to find a seat all night and after 330's in college same thing! Unless you're with a large group, the you won't be able to get that many seats together. 3 or 4 together TOPS and 4 is kind of stretching it so keep that in mind when hitting the place up to watch the games! 3. Easy to make a bet. Even on Sunday's the lines aren't unbelievably long. Maybe a 10 minute wait to place a bet around noon before 1pm NFL kick offs. Plenty of tellers and plenty of options from teasers to parlay's to props. It really is as close to an on line book as they have in Vegas. I visited other books along the strip and off strip and none of them had the betting options the LVH does. Like I said, it's like betting on bookmaker or 5 dimes in person. I really love that about this book. It's not scared to take a bet. 4. Plenty of TV's for horse racing and sports. With that said though football is king in Vegas. If you betting basketball during football you better find some place else to watch it lol. I was out there during baseball and those games were buried behind the tellers on 30 inch tv's 100 feet from seating lol. Just figured I'd mention that in case it's football day out there and you like a hockey or b ball game (post season baseball will be on no matter what). They have a boat load of tv's but there's just to many games for them to show everything so keep that in mind if you're wagering something else during the football games. I know NBA and hockey usually don't have full schedules during the day when college and NFL is on but I'm just mentioning it could be a problem if a game you play is on during football. But again there is a ton of screens to watch and they do a good job of showing as many games as possible. A lot more screens then the other books I checked. 5. Very lax in the book all around. Never seen any beefs, never seen the ugly side although I'm sure it exists. Most guys down there are cool as well as the tellers and security. Felt really comfortable in the book. Anyways I love the book I really do. Anyone wants to know about the hotel ask me anything (I stayed at the LVH both trips) and I'll help. The sports book is great though and if I missed anything you wanna know, just ask me and I'll answer best I can! |
