You go ahead and look at Cincy's second game of the year under a new head coach and not bother to look at the fact they've won six straight. Or fail to notice that their defense is good too (10th in the nation). |

Which he did, throwing for 3 tds. 2 of those tds went to Tommy Lee Lewis (who has been out the past two weeks) and the other went to Daron Brown (who also has been out). I'm aware of the public going at this one pretty hard but I think this line should be closer to NIU -7 and I get the feeling the line will start to move in that direction the closer we get to game time. Agree with you on just about everything. Way too many times on this site to people get freaked out when the public is heavily on one side. I think 75-80 percent of the public was on NIU against the last two good MAC teams they've faced (Toledo and Ball State), and NIU easily covered both. Bowling Green is very good, and I'd consider them if it got over a touchdown...but they've looked great lately, with only one real tough team in Buffalo. And Buffalo got sandblasted by Toledo (don't let the final fool you). No way do I go against Jordan Lynch, especially with his two best receivers seemingly both healthy for the first time in a month. |

I'll offer a reason why Lynch hasn't one passing TD the last two weeks - his two best receivers have been hurt. Lewis is supposed to be back this week and Brown was back last week, but was limited. Plus, the weather wasn't ideal for throwing, so instead he ran like mad. Now he'll be indoors.
And I really like Bowling Green, don't get me wrong, but most of those recent defensive showings were against bad teams, Buffalo being the only exception (though they were DESTROYED by Toledo in the first half a few weeks ago before a ton of second-half points). And the public has been on NIU all year, and they've covered almost every week. Not afraid — going with the Huskies. |

Man, very surprised UCF would be underdogs...aren't they playing for a BCS game, essentially? And Burcham looked horrrrrible for SMU last week. Guessing the line implies Gilbert is playing?

Well, yeah...stop Lynch and NIU isn't that good.
But no one's stopped him. He's got one pick in his last seven games, and has run for 1,200 in that span. I like Bowling Green, but when the line's around a field goal, I take the team with the best player on the field, and by far, it's Lynch and NIU. |

As far as what Wyoming is capable of hiring, I thought that was as good as they were gonna get. |

I don't think Luck has lost back to back yet in his career...I'm inclined to go with the Colts.

I like the Lions, too.
Degen hit on it a bit, but teams that play in OT on Sunday are on a terrible ATS streak when they have to play Thursday (something like 12 in a row). Either that continues, or the Lions' recent terrible play on Thanksgiving does. I'm willing to lean Lions ending their skid, especially coming off a bad loss. |

I like Rice in this one...UAB is awful.
Rice isn't awesome on defense (43rd, 373.7 ypg), but UAB is pretty horrific (116th, 503.5 ypg). Rice is rushing for 242 a game and UAB is giving up 222 a game on the ground. Rice does a good job with turnover ratio, +0.9 per game, UAB is -0.4. And Rice won by 26 at NMSU, a fairly comparable team to UAB, which has only beat Northwestern State and FIU. Also, Rice still needs this game if it wants to keep pace with North Texas in the division. UNT owns the tiebreaker, both are 5-1 in conference. Yes, -19 is pretty big, but Rice will put up points. |

Hawaii has been competitive in quite a few games...at home.
On the road, they've lost by at least two TDs except for one game (UNLV). Vegas is the ninth island, the weather was more to their liking and the Rebs led by 19 before blowing it and needed a last-second field goal for the 39-37 win. Travel plus altitude plus cold has me on Wyoming. Now, the Cowboys' defense is turrible, granted, but they still have an outside shot at a bowl, and need this game. They're coming off back-to-back games against Fresno and Boise State, so they're going to be pretty fired up (I'd like to imagine). |

Wow...awesome. I looked on Goldsheet, and the most recent between FBS that was 56 or more was Florida over La-Monroe in 2001. That sound right?
I'd love to see the list of 56 or more if you have it anywhere. |

Hello all,
I was looking up info for this Florida State-Idaho bloodbath and was curious on where the 56-point spread ranks historically...between FBS teams. I've seen the 70 between Miami and Savannah State, but haven't seen many that are 56 with two FBS schools. Alabama and Georgia State wasn't even that high. I've looked on gold sheet, but that's just team by team for each year. Anyone know of a place that might have a list, or anything like that? Thanks! |

SJSU had one back (Eskridge) run for 992 yards, but he's nothing to write home about. At CU, he has a pretty good young backfield with Powell (691 yards in nine games after the opener) and Abron (167 yards in two of last three games). It's a long road to hoe, but I was very impressed with what SJSU did offensively this season, and Colorado has a nice QB redshirting in Shane Dillon (Elite 11, 6-foot-6) and a commit from Washington in Sefo Liufau (6-4, 215) who took his team to state and threw for about 375 in the championship. |
