Might have to step back if things do not go well today.
1) Sun +4-
I have an angle that is 19-5 ATS favoring the Sun. I watched the Sun versus the Lynx.......they missed a ton of easy shots inside,...they did a good job on Maya Moore, they just could not drop the ball in an ocean. Lynx bigs dominated against the young bigs of the Sun. I would expect that to reverse today versus the non-existent bigs of the Sky, I would expect the Sun to dominate inside.
The worst case scenario is that the Sky figure out that Cappy Pondexter is a black hole and they sit her ass on the bench for most of the game....then I would be concerned as Vandersloot plays to benefit her teammates. The way it looks to me is Pondexter is "teacher's pet" and will still get mucho minutos. If Sky shoots well from three this could be a game, otherwise I am betting Sun prevail.

We have the revenge factor in this game, as in a scheduling quirk, the Fever is playing the Storm for a second time on their home court in the month of May....a non-con team playing with same court revenge as an away dog is 36-22 ATS and 22-9 ATS the first two months of the season and same season revenge is 4-1-1 ATS.
And, this is tough because the Storm looked like world beaters last game out, and they discovered the equivalent of Roy Hobbs, a sub who came off the bench and lit it up and led them to victory....I don't know if I've ever seen anything quite like that, not even in the movies....she was 6-8 from downtown and hit a couple when the Storm's grip on the game was perilous.....good on her.
But, there's always a "but", the Storm just played a tough New York team down to the wire, they're playing a team they've beaten last week and who do they have coming up next after that but the class of the league the past few years in the Lynx. I expect a lessoning of performance by the Storm even considering I don't put the Fever on the same level as the Liberty....I expect a letdown with an avenging foe.
Now that being said, my winning percentage this year isn't putting fear into the hearts of the Vegas banksters.

Half time Sun up 12. Both of the best guards for the Sky get right ankle sprains in the first half....strange.
Vandersloot's looks the worse of the two, and if she comes back, which I doubt, she will be ineffective. She is the Sky's most important and valuable player, she sets up her teammates for easy shots, especially to Quigley who's a great shooter.
Pondexter was 1 for 5 in the first half and -16, which makes her -50 for the past 2.5 games. I am benching Pondexter and giving her 5 minutes/game if I'm coaching.
The Sky has shot 7 for 16 from the line.....strange, obviously the game would be much closer if they shot their normal percentage from the line.
Evidently the number one pick for the Sky, a center has been out the whole year. This will be the only thing that will save this team, if she can play. Dolson, their starting center looks less than average and Boyette, their other big can't play worth a lick.
Their white guards are savvy and good shooters, but that is about it for the Sky.
There's been some very unusual things going on in the W so far this year,...we'll see how the Sky respond in the second half.

Sun up 8 after the third....you can tell this is a young team,...they're doing everything in their power to let the Sky hang around.
The referees are calling a foul every time someone drives the lane, so instead of avoiding contact the Sun are playing normal defense. Adjusting your game to how the refs are calling it is a part of being an intelligent basketball team. The Sun aren't that, yet.
Otherwise, they have to play out on Young and Quigley the only two players that can shoot the Sky back into the game. They haven't figured that out yet either.

I just want to know how much money the refs put on the over in the Sun vs Sky game. 19 fouls called in the 1st quarter and 28 FT attempts. Ridiculous. Killed my under

I thought exactly the same I even googled about it because some of the calls were ridiculous.

Sun: 39.3% from the field, 30% from 3, and 71.8% FT Sky: 38.6% from the field, 28.6% from 3, 61.3% FT. Teams combined for only 18 turnovers. Looking at these stats you would think an easy under. However, there were 70 FT attempts and 51 fouls called. A WNBA game is 40 mins long. So if Cheryl Flores, Kurt Walker, or Isaac Barnett are officiating take the OVER!

The Stars will gel late in the season. Too many new pieces and new coach. But they have the talent to get it sorted. Just give it time. The Fever are a bunch of players that IMHO are just put together to help out Tamika but as we know, she retired and her replacement was a washed up Dupree? Not a good signing. Check back and read by team previews buddy.. Sky are just poor coached, poor talent and there is some issues behind the scenes because players aren't happy and especially Boyette..

I am liking what I see out of the Stars. Their schemes are good, the coach looks like she knows what she is doing. They have 2 or 3 players with some skill who can shoot and pass. The ball went to the correct places on the floor.
Obviously, being young they will have to graduate from the school of hard knocks and get some beat downs this year from teams like the Lynx who are savvy, smart and tough.
I am taking them off the "no-play" list....which leaves the Sky and the Fever.
Statfox power ratings have the Stars as a home dogs versus the Fever next game,...that will be difficult to pass up if they come a dog at home.
Now, I've seen every team.....the time for losing is OVER.

However the players need to grab a clue and avoid contact when the ball is in the lane if the ref is calling everything.
If I'm the coach I tell the players, "I'm benching the next player that reaches in on a drive or tries to block a shot."
I agree with everything you said about the players need to adjust when a game is being called tight. And I truly believed the players did after the first quarter. But this was complete overkill when you look at the post game stats on a game with a total of 161. Both teams shot under 40% from the field, under 30% from 3, and under 72% from the line. And you end up with a total of 176? Hmmm.

Lynx wore them down....props to the Lynx coach,....she brings waves of bodies, that are big, physical and play hard. When playing a young team, they play ugly, wear the opponent down and totally demoralize them.
Teams that aren't physical or with a small bench won't have a chance. But, the Lynx are a veteran team that knows it actually is better if you don't blow a team out....you conserve energy and the other team's pride isn't hurt as much, which is a good thing.
If the other team thinks they have a chance because they kept it close, it is a psychological advantage for the Lynx, rather than have the opponents bursting with indignation and fury at a beat down they received.
I'm still liking the Stars much more than the Fever or the Sky. I reckon they'll cover some games for me this year.

Here are my other thoughts about the WNBA. It seems that they believe that to make the game more exciting they need to increase the scoring. Thus, a 14 second shot clock on any rebound. I'm fine with that and wish the NBA would do the same thing. However, I do not find a higher scoring game exciting when there is no flow to the game. Referees need to be consistent. I've watched plenty WNBA and this was the worst officiated ever. 51 fouls called in the game breaks down to one foul per 47 seconds. 70 free throws were taken in a game in which neither team was intentionally fouling at the end of the game. When combining that with the usual timeouts, video reviews, and commercial breaks this game was UNWATCHABLE and only was watching it because it was the 3rd leg of a parlay and I had the under.
