Longhorns lose RB Gray, DT Whaley for season

Nov 11, 2013 |
Texas was dealt a double dose of bad luck in the wake of its 47-40 victory over West Virginia, with the announcement that running back Johnathan Gray and defensive tackle Chris Whaley are both out for the rest of the season.

Gray, a sophomore, tore his right Achilles, shelving the Big 12's third-leading rusher (780 yards, 159 carries, 4.9 ypc).

Whaley, having a strong senior campaign that included an interception for a touchdown and a fumble recovery for a score, is out with a left knee injury.

The Longhorns are currently 3-point home dogs against Oklahoma State in Week 12.
