With the list of players still available via free agency dwindling, and teams looking more and more set up for the 2017 Major League Baseball season, it's a good time to take a look at futures odds to win both the National and American leagues.

In the National League it's no surprise that the defending World Series champions are the betting favorites at 3/2 to raise another NL pennant in 2017. The Chicago Cubs are set up to win long-term and they will likely be the faves on this list for the next five years. The Washington Nationals and the Los Angeles Dodgers are both listed at 5/1 with the New York Mets (6/1) and the San Francisco Giants (7/1) close behind.

Over in the American League, the retooled Boston Red Sox, and their new toy Chris Sale, are the favorites to represent the Junior Circuit in next season's World Series at 9/4. Last season's champs, the Cleveland Indians, and the ready to bust out Houston Astros are both second favorites at 9/2.
