Dutch tennis player receives ban for betting

Dutch tennis player Yannick Ebbinghaus has been suspended for six months and fined up to $10,000 for betting illegally on matches, according to a report on supersport.com.

The Tennis Integrity Unit (TIU) is reporting that the 23-year-old admitted to breaching their anti-corruption rules 67 times between May 2012 and February 2013.

Ebbinghaus, currently 1,123 in the world rankings, has earned $5 682 in prize money in his entire career and will have to undergo anti-corruption education training as part of his punishment.
