New Jersey responds to leagues in sports betting case

The state of New Jersey has submitted its legal brief as the two sides in the sports betting case prepare for the oral arguments scheduled for June 26th at the Third Circuit Court of Appeals in Philadelphia, reports John Brennan of NorthJersey.com.

In the brief, the state attacks studies by the leagues that they used to demonstrate how state-sponsored sports betting is a detriment and can be harmful.

Also, as Brennan states, New Jersey has not yet picked on the most simple aspect: how the leagues are even in a position to bring the case.

This certainly is not the meat and potatoes of the case but perhaps, as Brennan points out, some pot-shot exchanges by both sides ahead of the oral arguments later this month.
