Tulsa Athletic Director Ross M. Parmley has been placed on administrative leave after he admitted to the FBI he bet on college and NFL football before he quit gambling in 2010.
Parmley, who became Tulsa's A.D. earlier this year, was reportedly involved with Teddy Mitchell, who awaits trial for charges of running an Oklahoma City gambling ring.
Parmley apparently "made payments to Mitchell on losses and collected from Mitchell on wins" according to an FBI report sourced in this story in NewsOK.com.
The Golden Hurricane A.D. isn't charged with anything as of this point but University of Tulsa President Steadman Upham said Tuesday: "TU Athletic Director Ross Parmley has been placed on administrative leave pending further investigation into allegations of gambling."
Tulsa faces UCF this weekend for the C-USA championship game noon ET on Saturday. Tulsa opened as a pick at most books but has since moved to a 1.5-point favorite.
Update: A handful of offshore books bumped this line up to -2 Tuesday night and Wednesday morning. A few others also took it off the board. See the complete odds history here.
