The Los Angeles Clippers’ 17-game winning streak not only has the Western Conference shaking in its Nikes, but sportsbooks are starting to sweat as well.
The Clippers (25-6 SU, 20-11 ATS) have moved from +3,000 to +900 to win the NBA Championship since the start of the season, getting a major adjustment during their incredible winning stretch. Los Angeles was priced at +1,500 at the end of November just before it rattled off 17 straight victories, going 12-5 ATS in that span.
“We are exposed fairly badly if Clippers happen to win West and NBA, so we are rooting against them here,” Mike Perry of Sportsbook.ag told Covers.
The Clippers, at +900, are behind only Miami (+200), Oklahoma City (+350), L.A. Lakers (+600), New York (+800) and San Antonio (+800) in the NBA Championship futures odds and could be providing the best value among contending teams.
Los Angeles opened the season at +1,500 to win the Western Conference, moving to +700 before their streak and currently sit at +400. Only the Thunder (+175) and Lakers (+350) rank above them in the odds (Spurs also priced at +400).
The Clippers picked up win No. 17 with a 107-96 victory versus Utah Sunday night. Los Angeles will go for win No. 18 on New Year's Day when it travels to Denver.
