In a stunning upset at UFC 162, Chris Weidman knocked out middleweight champ and MMA icon Anderson Silva in the second round Saturday night.
Silva had defended his middleweight belt 10 times and had won 16-straight UFC matches before Weidman put an end to the Spider's reign.
Weidman closed as a +200 dog before the match but had been getting a lot of backing throughout the week.
Early on in the bout, the Brazilian was taunting and gesturing Weidman, as he normally does to his opponents. As he left his hands down and bobbed his head to avoid Weidman's punches, he was ultimately caught on the chin.
Silva's eyes rolled into the back of his head as he crumbled to the mat where Weidman finished the fight off with a couple of more shots for good measure.
After the match, Silva commented on how his title-fighting days were now over. But UFC President Dana White would have none of it.
