Sunday Night Football kicks off with a battle of NFC East foes as the New York Giants travel to Jerry World (now AT&T Stadium) to face the Dallas Cowboys.
America's Team has had a heck of time covering the spread in their current digs (11-21 ATS). Not only that, but the G-Men have been a particular thorn in their side and are 4-0 both against the spread and straight up when they play there. The Giants were 29-24 victors there in last season's Week 8 matchup.
We talk to Mike Perry, an oddsmaker at SportsBook.ag, about the action on the first Sunday nighter of the NFL season.
New York Giants at Dallas Cowboys - Open: -3, Move: -3.5
The fact that the Giants have had the Cowboys' number in Dallas doesn't seem to scare off sharp action, however.
"I didn’t think we would move off -3 on this game," Perry told Covers. "But on Monday we got sharp action on Dallas, so moved them to -3.5 (-105). 55 percent of money is on the Cowboys at -3.5."
The total for this game opened at 49 and these teams have played 'over' in four straight games in Dallas, including 'over' the 48 point total last season. Sharp action has since moved that number.
"We opened the total at 49 and got sharp action on Friday, so we've moved to the current number of 50," says Perry. "77 percent of money is on the 'over'."
As far as the moneyline is concerned, the Giants are getting 60 percent of the moneyline cash at +150.
