Allen headed to Heat; futures odds hold steady

Jul 7, 2012 |
Don't expect massive line moves on Miami Heat futures now that Ray Allen, the NBA's all-time leader in three-point field goals, is leaving the Boston Celtics to join the NBA champs.

That's because there's nowhere really to go.

The Heat are already 2-1 favorites to win the NBA title next year and ridiculously loaded with star power. One more star can only shine so much on the odds.

Most online sportsbooks hadn't moved the Heat much by late Saturday morning and you can still get them at +225 at Sportsbook.com.

According to the Miami Herald, "Allen rejected a two-year, $12 million offer from the Celtics to take a two-year, $6.3 million deal from the Heat – a move that bolsters Miami's bench and weakens one of its chief Eastern Conference rivals."
