The British tabloids are on code blue – or pink – depending on the sex the William and Kate’s first baby, which is expected any time this month.
Sportsbooks have been offering prop odds on the royal baby since the fairy-tale pair were married and betting is heating up now that Kate Middleton’s due date is rapidly approaching.
Oddsmakers have set “Female” as a -175 favorite with “Male” coming back as a +125 underdog. And, as for names, Alexandra (+350 to +550), Charlotte (+400 to +550), James (+600 to +1200), Elizabeth (+600 to +700), George (+700 to +1000), Victoria (+700 to +1000), Alice (+1000 to +1400) and Diana (+700 to +1200) – the name of William’s now-deceased mother – find themselves atop most books’ baby name boards.
Also open for wagering is the color of the baby’s hair color - Brown (+200), Black (+250), Red (+275), Blonde (+275). The baby’s birth weight is too. Seven pounds to 7 lbs 15 ounces is an EVEN money fave, and date of birth - July 10 and 11 - are +700 favorites.
Prop bettors can even wager on which magazine will be the first to publish exclusive pictures of William and Kate’s offspring with Hello (+138), Tatler (+250) and Elle (+400) as the front runners.
And if the tabloids weren’t already invasive enough there are odds on which age the royal baby will be photographed at a night club – 16 and under (-110), between 17 and 18 (-110), 19 or older (+1,600).
