Low-scoring Round of 64 pleasing under bettors

Mar 23, 2013 |
Scoring is down early in this year’s NCAA Tournament. Really down.

Teams scored an average of 64.5 points per game in the second round – the lowest-scoring Round of 64 since the shot clock arrived in 1986, according to ESPN Stats and Info.

That resulted in a combined 13-19 over/under mark in the second round.

Here is an O/U breakdown by region:

Midwest 3-5 O/U
South 3-5 O/U
West 4-4 O/U
East 3-5 O/U

The under trend has been reversed so far in the Round of 32. Saturday's games went a combined 5-3 O/U.
